BJP Star to be First Chief Minister of West Bengal? Political Developments

The BJP star who actually beat Mamata Banerjee in Bhabanipur. And now he’s going to be the first Chief Minister of West Bengal.

It all sort of happened after Amit Shah, the Union Home Minister—who’s basically the Central Observer for the BJP in the state right now—had a meeting with the MLAs. That’s when the announcement came out.

“Suvendu will be the new CM of West Bengal,” Shah said. He added that this move followed a bunch of proposals backing the BJP leader for that top spot.

There’s a note there, too. Shah sounded pretty careful. “I am grateful to the people of Bengal for their faith and mandate given to the BJP . We will ensure that we don’t hurt your trust.” That kind of language, trying to manage things.

And the timing? It’s happening fast.

When is the oath? Tomorrow. 11 A.M. at the Brigade Parade ground. Adhikari is set to take that oath.

Modi might be there too. He talked about coming back for the ceremony after the May 4th results. That kind of confidence he had.

TMC? They’re down to 80 seats now, fifteen years in power, that’s a huge drop.

But the old guard isn’t just sitting there quietly. Mamata Banerjee, the outgoing CM, she refused to back down. She just said, “Let them dismiss me. I want this to be a black day.” That’s heavy.

Then, Governor Ravi stepped in on Thursday. He dissolved the Legislative Assembly. Clearing the way for the BJP government.

Post-poll violence. And this whole mess about who’s next in charge. The political temperature in Bengal? It just keeps climbing. You feel it in the air.

Follow for live updates on how this whole Chief Minister formation is actually playing out. It’s not settled yet.
