Bollywood Box Office Race and Film Performance in 2026

Dhurandhar 2 , Border 2 , and Chand Mera Dil . That’s what we saw in the first five months of 2026 for Bollywood. Some films absolutely crushed it. Others just… didn’t stick.

It’s turned into a real battle, this box office race. Seriously one of the most watched fights lately. The competition among the biggest stars? It’s only getting wilder now.

If you had to pick a clear winner so far? Ranveer Singh . His Dhurandhar 2: The Revenge . That thing just exploded. It’s become the biggest Bollywood blockbuster of 2026. One of the highest-grossing Indian films ever made. Crossed eighteen hundred crore worldwide. The highest Hindi film domestically. It’s sitting right at the top of the charts. Nothing else even comes close.

Then there was Border 2 . That one rode the nostalgia wave really well. Patriotic appeal. It managed a decent theatrical run. Crossed four hundred crore worldwide. Not nearly as huge as Dhurandhar , mind you. But people loved it. It featured Varun Dhawan and Ahan Shetty leading the charge.

There were the medium-budget stuff too. Not massive hits, just steady movers. Take Pati Patni Aur Woh Do . Ayushmann Khurrana’s comedy. It was moving toward that six hundred crore mark. Stable run, despite all the bigger noise.

And then you had the others. Akshay Kumar’s Bhoot Bangla . That was a big budget film, one hundred and twenty crore. Still pulled in two hundred fifty crore worldwide. Riteish Deshmukh’s Raja Shivaji also managed a little over one hundred crore. Still running.

Chand Mera Dil starring Ananya Panday and Lakshya? It made twenty-seven crore in its second week. It stayed afloat, even with mixed reviews floating around.

But the gap? It’s huge. This year, the difference between the top and the bottom is massive. Some movies just vanished. Poor occupancy. Weak word-of-mouth.

Shahid Kapoor’s O’Romeo . Budget one hundred crore. Only earned seventy-five crore in India. Gone fast.

Mardaani 3 by Rani Mukerji. Grossed seventy-four crore globally. Positive reviews, but still just… there.

Even Dacoit: A Love Story , Adivi Sesh and Mrunal Thakur’s effort. It disappeared quickly. Forty-two crore total.

Still, the race isn't over. It’s just waiting.

There are still some huge films sitting on the shelf. Major releases are waiting for their time.

King . Shah Rukh Khan and that mythological epic Ramayana with Ranbir Kapoor. That has potential. It could seriously challenge those records we saw earlier. We just have to see if it can actually break through the noise.
