D K Shivakumar: Astrologer's Prediction and Karnataka Chief Minister Speculation
D K Shivakumar. The name keeps popping up, whispered, speculated, as the next Chief Minister for Karnataka. And suddenly, you get this story about an astrologer who thinks he knows the future.
He claims a prediction he made back when Shivakumar was just starting out is finally coming true. It’s wild, isn't it?
The astrologer, Bellur Dwarakanath, brought this up. He said Shivakumar first sought him out about forty years ago. Back then, Dwarakanath had made a prediction: this leader would eventually head the state.
“When D K Shivakumar came to me,” Dwarakanath recalled, “I saw the stars were really strong. I told him he would lead Karnataka.”
There’s a pause there. A little hesitation, maybe.
“This should have happened a year ago,” he added. “But sometimes destiny just takes its time. Now, it looks like the time is right.”
Dwarakanath paints a picture of a very close relationship. They keep in touch regularly. He described Shivakumar as a confidant. They talk several times a week. He treats him almost like a son.
People see Shivakumar as tough, maybe even arrogant. But the astrologer thinks he’s kind-hearted. That’s the kind of thing you hear when you dig into these kinds of personal stories.
It’s not just about Karnataka, though. Dwarakanath mentioned something else too. He recalled advising Indira Gandhi after the Emergency. He claimed he’d predicted her return to power, even guiding her to temples across Karnataka.
So, these remarks from the astrologer, they’ve caught attention. Amid all the noise about who will lead the state, this prediction gets thrown into the mix.
The speculation about Shivakumar being the next leader, the Congress Legislature Party stuff—it’s intense. He represents that Kanakapura seat. Everyone expects him to win the party leadership.
Then there are the dates. Dwarakanath Guruji, the other astrologer, he offered three possible dates for when Shivakumar might actually take the reins. May 31st. June 5th. June 6th. He just stated those three dates to PTI.
He didn’t just offer them. He predicted more about the tenure. He suggested Shivakumar wouldn’t be some one-day caretaker. His horoscope, he insists, is extremely strong. He’ll serve for a long time. He’ll have the high command backing him.
Dwarakanath said Karnataka would become “healthy and prosperous” under his rule. It’s a very specific kind of vision, you know?
But there’s a condition attached to this prophecy. It’s not just about the future. He stressed that before he can truly enjoy that power, Shivakumar needs to handle what he has right now. He has responsibilities to discharge first.
“He has to win the next election,” the astrologer insisted. “Only then will he be the people’s chief minister in the real sense. For now, he has to deal with his current duties.”
The political scene is moving fast, too. The CLP is set to meet. They are supposed to elect a new leader. This is happening while the Governor has already accepted the resignation of Siddaramaiah and shuffled the cabinet. That just opened the door.
So, the prediction sits there, alongside the actual political maneuvering. It’s all tangled up. It’s that kind of messy reality you get when you look at politics.
