Investigation into Twisha Sharma's Death and Missing Evidence

The investigation into Twisha Sharma’s death is really blowing up now. There are massive calls for justice, and honestly, the way the police handled things has caused a huge stir.

The real headache, it seems, started with the autopsy. Doctors at AIIMS Bhopal, they weren't given the ligature material. You know, the strap she allegedly used for hanging. That’s mandatory, part of the forensic procedure.

Protocol said the police had to hand over the material used for hanging so the doctors could compare the neck marks with the actual ligature. That piece of evidence just vanished.

Because of that missing bit, the doctors couldn't properly match the ligature material to the marks on the Noida woman's neck. It’s triggered demands for a deeper probe. And naturally, people are alleging tampering with the evidence.

Also, there’s this other thing surfacing. Twisha’s body—it moved. Her husband and others moved it around, and the police weren't even there. That’s another huge snag.

We know the basic timeline. Twisha Sharma, she was a model, an actress, 33 years old. She met Samarth Singh through a dating app back in 2024. They got married in December 2025. Then, on May 12th, she was found hanging at her home in Katara Hills, Bhopal.

Her family, they are screaming about dowry harassment, physical abuse, and using influence to stall the investigation.

But then you have the conflicting stories.

Samarth Singh’s mother, Giribala Singh—who is a retired judge and co-accused—she claims there was undue influence during the marriage.

On the flip side, Giribala Singh is pushing back. She alleges Twisha was a drug addict, psychiatric patient. That she sometimes showed withdrawal symptoms when she didn't get her medication.

ACP Rajnish Kashyap, the Assistant Commissioner of Police from Khara Hill, he spoke about the missing belt. He said it was seized from the crime scene that day. But the investigating officer, the one who went to the scene, they just didn't hand it over during the post-mortem.

“Regarding the noose used for the hanging,” Kashyap said, “it was definitely seized from the scene on the day of the incident. But the police personnel, the investigating officer, they failed to submit it during the post-mortem examination.”

He added that the material went to the Forensic Science Laboratory team and then got deposited at AIIMS Bhopal. Now they are waiting for the forensic report. This is where they plan to clear up this specific issue.

But Kashyap pointed out something else that matters hugely. He said that the fact that Twisha’s body was taken down from the noose and moved to the hospital without the police being called to the scene? That’s the key point of the investigation.

“This is a key point in our ongoing investigation,” he stressed. “We are actively looking into it. CCTV cameras are there at their residence. We are pulling footage. We are also looking into how she got to the hospital.”

The family’s claims keep piling up. They say Twisha underwent a drastic change after the marriage. They claim the cheerful young woman lost almost fifteen kilos because of constant mental harassment.

Meanwhile, there’s the chat evidence. On Monday, messages surfaced between Twisha, her mother, and a friend. They were pleading for help. Asking to be taken back home from Bhopal. There were warnings in those chats about getting “trapped” in the marriage.

Those messages also hinted at a pregnancy. Samarth Singh allegedly questioned the paternity of the child. Her relatives insisted she stayed in contact with them until about ten pm on the night she died.

It’s all incredibly messy. The official story versus what’s coming out of the private messages. The failure in the procedure, the body movement, the alleged abuse—it all just swirls together in this investigation.
