Ranveer Singh, Don 3 Exit, and FWICE Dispute

The whole thing about Ranveer Singh and that alleged sudden exit from Farhan Akhtar’s Don 3 is still simmering. Now it’s gotten worse. The Federation of Western India Cine Employees, FWICE , stepped in. They issued a non-cooperation directive against the actor. It’s caused a real uproar across the whole industry.

And something else that just popped up. Ranveer’s earlier comments about the role kept popping up online. The ones he made when he was first announced as the lead for Don 3 . It’s drawing attention again. He talked about stepping into that big franchise with a certain sense of responsibility back then.

Back in August of 2023, he put out a long post on Instagram. It was heavy. He said he’d been dreaming about this for ages. He called it a dream opportunity.

He wrote something kind of intense. “Gosh! I’ve been dreaming about doing this for a very, very long time!” He brought up falling in love with movies as a kid. Watching Amitabh Bachchan and Shah Rukh Khan. The two G.O.A.Ts of Hindi Cinema. He talked about wanting to be like them. That legacy, he said, shaped him. It’s a manifestation of his childhood dream, taking that legacy forward.

He then talked about the responsibility. He said he understood being part of the ‘Don’ dynasty. He hoped the audience would give him love, the same way they gave other characters. He thanked Farhan and Ritesh for trusting him. He really hoped he could deliver on that faith. He mentioned his two supernovas, The Big B and SRK. He promised he’d do his very best to entertain everyone in and as… Don .

But that was before the real fight started.

The actual dispute kicked off because Ranveer reportedly walked out of Don 3 . That created tension. Between the production side and the actor. Things got messy fast.

Then on May 25th, FWICE dropped the hammer. They issued that non-cooperation directive. It was aimed squarely at Ranveer Singh over his exit from the film. They claimed the exit happened just three weeks before the shooting unit was supposed to leave. That caused huge disruption to the project.

FWICE also made a claim. They said Ranveer didn't answer the notices. They asked him to show up. They asked him to explain why he left. That silence, they implied, led to their decision.

Hours after that, his team jumped in. A spokesperson released a statement. It was pretty standard, really. They said Ranveer Singh didn't want to add more speculation. They felt these professional disaGreements should just be handled privately.

The statement didn’t directly address the FWICE directive. It didn’t tackle the claims they made. But it stressed that Ranveer still holds “deep respect and goodwill” for everyone involved.

“Choosing restraint and grace in moments like these,” the statement added. “That’s always been his choice. He’ll keep that stance.”

It just shows how things spin. The personal dream, the industry demands, the formal complaints. All tangled up. It’s a mess.</p
