Ranveer Singh. He’s been making noise again, lately. All because of that whole Don 3 mess with Farhan Akhtar. It’s been blowing up online.
The Federation of Western India Cine Employees, FWICE, finally dropped a non-cooperation directive against Ranveer. This followed his sudden exit from the third installment of Don . Everyone is watching this fallout.
And naturally, the Cine & TV Artistes’ Association, CINTAA—the big group for actors—had to step in.
Poonam Dhillon, the President of CINTAA, spoke to Variety India about it. She sounded really worried.
She admitted that even though Ranveer is a big deal, a member of CINTAA, the association was completely out of the loop. No one brought them in before that directive came out.
She said, “CINTAA as an association, we just wanted to be approached. Either by the artists, or by the producers, or by the Federation if there was a problem. But since nobody approached us, we’re just… at a loss for what to say. We don’t have the details.”
It’s strange. She really felt it was strange. It’s one of their members, right? But neither the artist, nor the producer, nor the Federation, they didn't give them any confidence.
She pushed back a bit. Refusing to jump in without knowing the whole story, she stressed that she couldn’t form any opinion. All she’d seen were media reports. That’s all they had.
“We could have tried to fix this,” she said. “That’s what we exist for. To sort out problems between an actor and a producer. Ranveer was part of CINTAA. He could have involved us. Approached us. Then we could have tried to sort it out in a way that wasn't so messy.”
The whole thing feels like it just spiraled.
Remember, Ranveer was announced as the new Don in 2023. That announcement, the teaser stuff? It caused a huge wave of excitement. Fans went wild. It became this huge talking point.
But then, the film just stalled. Delays crept in. Uncertainty followed.
Online reports suggested Ranveer actually walked away from the project. Creative differences, they said. With the makers. That’s what people are whispering now.
It’s not just about the money or the script, I think. It’s about the process. It’s about who gets to decide things. The whole dynamic feels broken right now.
The reaction from CINTAA seems to highlight a bigger issue. It’s not just about one actor leaving a film. It’s about how these big industry disputes play out.
