Salman Khan, Maatrubhumi Controversy and Production Delays

Salman Khan, you know, he usually keeps things pretty chill with the paparazzi. He stops to say hi during public appearances. But Tuesday night? That changed.

He was spotted outside the Hinduja Hospital in Bandra, visiting a family member. That’s when things got really tense. Videos surfaced showing him visibly annoyed. Photographers were crowding him, trying to get a shot as he was leaving.

There was this moment, you know? He just gestured angrily at them. He said something sharp, "Dimag kharab hai kya?" before he drove off.

The photographers apologized later, of course. But Salman looked really upset. Deeply bothered.

Hours later, he posted on Instagram. A bunch of smiling selfies. But the captions? They were loaded. Strongly worded stuff. One post specifically lashed out at people pushing his film, Maatrubhumi , into whatever mess it was in.

He wrote, "If I see any press at a hospital enjoying my pain. The press that I have stood for interacted with taken care made sure that they also earn their bread n butter."

Then another picture. He slammed those bringing the film into the situation. He wrote something about money from his losses. "But if they wanna make money from my losses…. keep quiet don’t enjoy. bhai bhai bhai matrabhumi picture ki maaa ki aankh, pic imp hai ya life."

And then there was this other close-up selfie. The rant continued. A real warning. "Aise main sau jala doonga. Bhai k ek bhai k dukh par agli baar try kar lena mere sath. Buss try kar lena ….. Jab bhi tumhara koi hospital mai hoga kya mai aisa react karoonga ?"

He wrapped it up with another heavy statement. "Saath saal ka ho gaya hoon lekin ladna nahiin bhoola yeh yaad rakh lena, jail mein dalo ge haaa haaa."

The Status of the Film Maatrubhumi

And then there’s the film itself. Maatrubhumi .

It’s been a long delay. Reports say it got pushed back. Production issues, creative stuff, all that kind of noise.

It was supposed to hit theaters around April 2026. But things shifted. They needed more time for post-production. Patch shoots, all that kind of dragging out. Salman reportedly didn't want to rush it. He wanted quality.

The title itself changed earlier this year. Apoorva Lakhia, the director, said they started with both Battle of Galwan and Maatrubhumi . But eventually, they felt the new title felt more real. Less about the war angle, more about the actual feeling.

They seemed keen to dodge the political sensitivity around the Galwan Valley clash. You know, the stuff with Indian and Chinese troops back in 2020.

Another reason for the hold-up? The death of Prashant Tamang. He was supposed to shoot some key scenes. Reports say those portions had to be completely reworked after he passed away. That messed with the timeline, naturally.

Why did he even go to the hospital? That’s still a mystery. No one really knows who he was meeting there. It happened months after his father, Salim Khan, had been briefly in the hospital earlier this year. He came back, made a public appearance during Eid with the family.

It just keeps moving. You see the news about the Kerala CM taking the oath. Updates on PM Modi’s tour. All that stuff happening at the same time. It’s just a lot of moving pieces.
