Job Application Viewed After Six Years: A Story of Time and Silence

A job application that sat there, untouched for six years, suddenly popped up online. Someone on X revealed it was viewed six years after it was actually submitted.
Pallavi Tiwari, using the handle @dahi_kachorie, shared a screenshot showing this whole situation. It was the status of an old application she sent in. What really snagged people’s attention wasn't just the application itself but the timeline. The contrast between when it was sent and when someone finally looked at it.
The picture showed the submission date was six years back. And then, look the view happened just fourteen minutes later. That little detail hung there. Plus there was another note visible in the image. The company had already closed the books. They were explicitly saying they were “No longer accepting applications.”
Pallavi’s reaction to this whole thing was pure amusement. She captioned it something like, “Finally my job application is viewed after 6 years.” Simple, maybe a bit wry.
The post started moving fast. It picked up traction instantly. Thousands of people jumped in with reactions. It just felt… weirdly relatable somehow.
You saw the jokes start popping up quickly. One user just threw out, “Congratulations on the new milestone 😭😂.”
Then there was another angle. Someone else commented, sort of waiting for the next delay. “Wait for another 6 years for a reply 😭.” It felt like they were predicting more of that slow burn.
It brought up memories, you know? People started talking about their own experiences with job applications and silence. One user dropped something really raw. They recalled getting rejection emails from jobs they applied for eight years ago when they first graduated. A long time later still.
There was this one story about a bartending gig. Someone said they got a “thanks but no thanks” email for an application sent four years prior. And just staring at it. Like, what were you expecting? Did everyone think they were just sitting around twiddling their thumbs waiting for a hotel bar job? Deadpan.
Others chimed in with similar light-hearted sarcasm. One person muttered, “i should say congrats ig.” Another one asked that pointed question: “Ab reply aane mein kitne saal lagenge?” How much longer do you have to wait for a response?
It got kind of philosophical, honestly. Someone else posted something wilder. They were writing a letter to the President. The request was to give that company who viewed the application after six years some recognition. The award they suggested? “KumbhKaran jaaga kaise.” Just a bit of absurdity floating around in the comments section.
