Bhagwant Singh Mann on Video Controversy and Political Attacks

Bhagwant Singh Mann , the Punjab Chief Minister, basically shut down a video that was floating around, claiming it was fake. He said some kind of political garbage was going on a real campaign aimed at just defaming him and messing with what his government was trying to achieve.

It all seems tied back to the Shiromani Akali Dal folks. Mann pointed fingers directly at Sukhbir Singh Badal , saying this whole mess was being orchestrated by them, along with some other people who are clearly playing a political game.

The momentum behind this noise, he claimed, really kicked up after his administration pushed through those tough anti-beadbi laws. There were decisions made meant to protect Punjab’s stuff, you know? Protecting their interests. But even amidst all that drama, Mann kept hammering on about something else. He insisted he was still committed to looking out for the "Paani, Jawani, Kisani and Bani." He said he wouldn't back down from trying to damage his reputation no matter what they tried.

You see, there’s this whole reaction happening behind him too. Arvind Kejriwal , the AAP National Convener , stepped in. He basically backed Mann up. He put it out there that opponents were just rattled by the good work Mann was doing and were now trying to spread lies about him.

Then there was the stuff posted on X. Mann went there and directly called out the leadership of the SGPC the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee . He accused them of acting totally partisan. It got pretty pointed. He wrote something like, “The President of that committee has openly turned into a mouthpiece for the Akali Dal .” And then he threw this kind of statement about needing a directive through the Jathedar Sahib telling everyone to vote for Sukhbir Badal or face danger. Said that decision could happen anytime.

When it came to the video itself, Mann addressed it in a message. He was pretty clear: it wasn't his. He said he’d already cleared this up with the Jathedar of Sri Akal Takht Sahib before anyone even saw it. The whole claim that the video wasn’t AI-generated or that it belonged to him it came back to that directive from the Jathedar.

He made a point there, too. When he was called in, he emphasized something really simple: the person in the video doesn't look like him. Neither his build nor his face matches what was shown. It felt like they were just spreading whatever misinformation they wanted for political gain. Damaging his name.

It got deeper than just a personal attack, though. Mann brought up something about religion being used as a political weapon against him. He expressed real concern there. Said it was completely unfortunate and unacceptable that religion gets dragged into these political fights to target him. That felt heavy.

He appealed outward then. To the whole Sikh community. He urged everyone not to get swept away by this kind of misleading, malicious propaganda. The final say, he insisted, rests with the Sangat , with the people. That’s where the real verdict belongs.

And finally, the core message looped back around to his role. As long as he is the one entrusted with serving Punjab making decisions for Punjab, for its rights and its people he’ll keep doing that. That’s what matters most right now.
