Allegations and Political Speculation within Shiv Sena (UBT)

Sanjay Raut , the leader of Shiv Sena (UBT) , dragged some serious allegations onto the surface on Tuesday. He claimed there were actual attempts happening to bribe Members of Parliament from Maharashtra with huge sums just to switch sides.

The rumor is that some MPs might be ready to jump over to the Eknath Shinde faction. It’s all tied up in intense political speculation about a potential split within the UBT camp right now.

Raut posted this late at night on X, dropping a bombshell: an advance payment of fifteen crore rupees was being offered to MPs specifically to facilitate these defections.

“Apna Sapna Money Money! It’s shocking and revolting that Maharashtra MPs are reportedly being offered ₹15 crore each tonight to switch sides,” he wrote. That kind of language just screams trouble, doesn't it?

This immediately kicked off a reaction. Mahua Moitra , an MP from Trinamool Congress , reposted his message and fired back something sharp. She questioned the figures entirely.

“Only ₹15 cr? How are they going?” she wrote on X. Then she added some bite: “Believe ours got ₹4cr up front and ₹1cr a month for the next 36 months of term. Honey plus Money.” It felt like a direct jab at the perceived value of the politicians involved.

Raut didn’t back down. He escalated things quickly in response to her comment. He pushed back hard on the numbers.

“No no Mahua ji,” he posted back, “the Minimum Support Price is fixed at ₹50 crore per MP. Fifteen crore is just the advance. Frankly, these people aren’t even worth ₹50,000. Their price has only gone up because of the Shiv Sena and TMC brand label.” It was a very pointed statement about perceived worth versus monetary value.

The whole exchange just fed the noise. The buzz that some UBT MPs might actually be looking to break away from the party got louder.

This all happens when you look at the internal dynamics. Earlier, there were other hints floating around. Ruling Shiv Sena leaders had been signaling that anyone willing to side with Eknath Shinde would be welcomed in. That kind of openness just creates more friction internally.

Earlier on Tuesday too, Raut tried to shut down some chatter. He dismissed reports suggesting five UBT MPs were actually plotting a separate faction. He insisted firmly that all party MPs stayed committed to Uddhav Thackeray’s leadership.

He said there was no basis for the rumors he was hearing. “This is a lie,” he posted. “We have no such information.” Then he brought up something from four days prior. All those MPs supposedly attended a meeting called by Thackeray and pledged their faith in his leadership. Some of them even swore support to their loved ones.

But things got murkier afterward. Concerns definitely grew inside the Sena (UBT) camp. Only four of the nine Lok Sabha MPs actually showed up for that meeting with Thackeray in person. The rest just joined virtually or spoke on the phone. That kind of disparity makes you wonder what’s really going on behind closed doors.

It got even messier when party MP Sanjay Deshmukh met Union Minister and Shiv Sena leader Prataprao Jadhav in Delhi. That meeting sparked fresh speculation about potential defections. You start seeing these rumors everywhere, almost instantly.

Despite all this noise, Raut and Anil Desai kept pushing the same line. They repeatedly insisted that every single MP has to stand with Uddhav Thackeray . It seems like the core message is denial mixed with stubborn loyalty. The uncertainty just keeps hanging there over everything.
