Maharashtra Politics Chaos and Shiv Sena Internal Speculation

Maharashtra politics right now feels totally thrown into chaos. There’s this huge undercurrent of speculation swirling around Shiv Sena . People are talking about a section of the party some MPs potentially wanting to just jump ship. It’s all about word wars, accusations of poaching, and lawyers starting to move things around in Parliament.

Sanjay Raut , the leader for UBT, started blowing this up. He made these big claims, suggesting that MPs from Maharashtra were being offered massive amounts of cash just to switch sides. He talked about an “advance” of fifteen crore rupees. Then he doubled down on it, saying the ‘Minimum Support Price’ for an MP was fixed at fifty crore, and that fifteen crore was just a small payment upfront.

This came after some sarcastic back-and-forth with Mahua Moitra from Trinamool Congress. She just mocked the idea of these inducements being offered to legislators. You can feel the tension there.

And all this talk lines up with something called ‘Operation Tiger’. That buzz is getting louder. Reports are floating around that maybe seven of the nine Lok Sabha MPs in Shiv Sena (UBT) are actually talking to Eknath Shinde’s side, and they could switch camps entirely. It just seems like a big possibility now.

The rumors really started kicking up when things got weird inside the party itself. Some MPs skipped meetings or showed up virtually instead of physically. Others were seen hanging out with leaders from that ruling faction. Then MLC Krupal Tumane jumped in, fueling the fire even more by saying talks with seven UBT MPs were already in the final stages. It’s messy.

But there are countermoves happening too. Arvind Sawant , who is a leader within Shiv Sena (UBT) in the Lok Sabha, tried to play the legal card. He wrote straight to Speaker Om Birla asking for some intervention. He basically argued that anti-defection law doesn't actually recognize these kinds of splits. He warned that if anyone tries to break away without merging with the main party structure, they could face disqualification. The Thackeray camp, though, is firm. They insist all nine MPs must stick with Uddhav Thackeray. They are dismissing the rebellion talk as just noise.

Meanwhile, the other side isn’t sitting down. Leaders from the ruling Shiv Sena have kept the heat on. State minister Pratap Sarnaik made a public statement. He said the party doors remain open for any MP or MLA who genuinely believes in Bal Thackeray’s ideology and trusts Eknath Shinde’s leadership. It felt like an open invitation to anyone thinking about leaving, keeping this whole Maharashtra political drama going without letting it settle down.
