Erling Haaland's Masterclass: The Celebration Against Brazil

Erling Haaland took over the drumroll duties from Martin Odegaard after their huge win against Brazil in the Round of 16. It was a massive celebration with the fans at the New Jersey stadium, that familiar Viking Row showing up again.

Thousands of Norwegian supporters moved together, mimicking rowing, like they were on an old Viking ship. You saw one of those defining pictures from the tournament right there.

Haaland was at the center of it all this time. He scored a brace in the second half to knock Brazil out. Then he stood up front, pounding the drum. Leading everyone in those chants “Ro!” it just became synonymous with Norway’s brilliant World Cup run.

Orjan Nyland played a real masterclass too. He saved a penalty from Bruno Guimarães in the first half. Then Haaland struck twice in the last eleven minutes. That's how they got that 2-1 victory over Brazil at MetLife Stadium.

Haaland’s brace put him level with Messi and Mbappe for seven goals across the whole tournament.

For Brazil, things felt rough. They brought in Carlo Ancelotti trying to end a twenty-four-year drought. Losing to Norway meant this was their sixth time getting knocked out by a European side.

That defeat really stuck. It marked Brazil’s earliest exit at a World Cup since they got eliminated by Argentina back in 1990. Nyland gave them that belief, saving the penalty early on. And then Haaland made the breakthrough when it mattered most.
