Police Raid Exposes Sex Racket at Luxury Resort Near Jim Corbett

A luxury resort tucked away near Jim Corbett National Park is now under serious scrutiny. It’s all because police found something nasty during a raid in Ramnagar, Uttarakhand. Talk about putting a spotlight on tourist spots.
The operation itself was joint. It involved the Anti Human Trafficking Unit, the Special Operations Group, and the local Ramnagar Police. They got there based on tips about some illegal stuff going down inside that resort.
What came out of it? Fifty-two arrests. And ten women were pulled out. One of them was a minor. That just ratcheted up the whole situation immediately. After the raid, naturally, the authorities sealed the property. They started digging into this alleged prostitution racket. It’s huge.
When the officers finally got inside, things weren't quiet. Apparently, there was a private party in full swing. The police claimed they saw women performing what looked like obscene dances. Guests were throwing cash around at them. Standard stuff, but twisted into something much darker. They recovered a bunch of things during that initial search too. Evidence for the investigation.
The focus quickly shifted to who was running this operation. Investigators zeroed in on Umendra Kumar . He’s a businessman from Meerut. He allegedly organized the whole thing.
The details about how it started are wild. Kumar reportedly booked the resort for July 4th and July 5th. The price tag? Around two point two lakh rupees. That money went towards organizing this gathering. But the story doesn't end there. Police suggested this wasn’t just random activity. They alleged that this whole setup was connected to his pesticide manufacturing business. Some kind of dirty link, you understand?
And then there were the promises. Investigators claimed the women involved were allegedly promised something. Ten thousand rupees each. A price for their participation in whatever they were doing there. It sounds so brazen.
But the investigation didn't stop with just the organizers. It expanded way further out. There’s a suspicion that people tried to keep track of who was there, trying to hide identities. This is where things got really messy. The general manager at the resort allegedly told his employees not to write down names in the visitor register. An attempt to cover tracks.
The officials saw this omission immediately. They treated it as an obvious effort to conceal evidence. That’s why they sealed the place up pending whatever comes next from the inquiry. It just feels like a massive attempt to bury something deep inside that property.
Now we're talking about serious legal consequences for everyone involved. The accused are booked under several heavy laws. We’re talking Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita , along with the Immoral Traffic Act . And of course, there were charges related to the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences, POCSO, and the Juvenile Justice Act too. Plus the Excise Act came into play somehow.
The fact that a minor was among those rescued? That just makes everything exponentially more serious. It broadens the scope of what they have to deal with now.
This alleged sex racket near Jim Corbett has thrown the whole thing back in the light again. It puts the focus right back on all the tourist properties operating around Ramnagar. The gateway to that famous national park. You wonder if this was just an isolated incident there, or if it’s part of something much bigger moving through those areas. Investigators are now looking into whether this resort was a single spot or just one link in some wider network. It’s getting deeper and uglier.
