Investigation into Maharashtra Teacher Eligibility Test Leak

The Special Investigation Team the SIT is still digging into that alleged Maharashtra Teacher Eligibility Test leak. It just made another arrest. This time, they took in the wife of the supposed mastermind, Bijender Kumar Gupta.

Suman Kumari was the fourth person caught up in this mess. She was arrested way back in Patna, Bihar. Investigators think she played a big role in actually getting that paper out.

The police suspect something more than just involvement. They believe after the question paper leaked, Suman Kumari handed copies to people in the network. This all allegedly happened on her husband’s orders, Gupta’s instructions. She wasn't just an observer, it seems.

They also think she was constantly talking to him. Coordinating things. Running the operation with him behind the scenes.

And don't forget the money. Sources indicate Suman Kumari might have handled the financial side of this whole scam too. Negotiating the deals. Deciding how much money was owed. Figuring out the advance payment before anyone even saw the exam. That kind of stuff links her directly to the illicit gains.

This latest arrest just shows the SIT is really pushing harder now. They're hunting what they think is a huge, organized network stretching across states behind this whole leak. It’s not just one local issue anymore.

Remember when the actual test got stopped? The Maharashtra TET exam scheduled for June 28th had to be postponed. That happened after some police action in Bhiwandi. They raided a spot and found multiple sets of papers. Authorities later confirmed it the material was definitely leaked.

That’s where things kicked off. Bhiwandi Police acted on some intel, raided somewhere, and they recovered the materials. It wasn't a simple mistake; this was planned.

Thane Police stepped in then, setting up that Special Investigation Team to look into everything. They want the full picture now.

The investigation is running on a tight clock. Public Prosecutor Advocate Maria Ansari said they have until July 6th to finish their inquiries. That’s when they plan to present the main accused from Maharashtra in court. She mentioned one of the arrested people even got some medical treatment during this process.

Investigators are still chasing leads. They think Suman Kumari's arrest is key. It might unlock details about the money trail and how the paper actually moved through the system before anyone took the test.

They believe they’re looking at a wider operation now. People are tracking suspects across Bihar, Haryana, and Maharashtra. The network seems bigger than just one region. Things keep moving. Arrests are expected to follow as they try to pin down everyone involved in this organized setup.
