US-Iran Tensions and Escalation

US-Iran stuff happening right now. Fresh tension. It’s really thick between Washington and Tehran.

Tehran is hitting regional allies. And then… US forces struck the edge of an Iranian nuclear plant. All at once, it lines up with that whole funeral thing for Ayatollah Khamenei. That was two days in a row they exchanged fire. Hours after Trump dropped that news about the MoU being over. He just didn’t want any more deals with them.

Iranian state media said things got hit Thursday evening. Two military sites in different cities targeted. But there's a twist there, right? A US official told CNN later that their forces weren’t actually running those strikes at the time.

Meanwhile, Israel stepped in too. Their officials pushed back hard. They claimed they weren't involved. Said they didn't know about any Israeli action happening in Iran right now. Just denial.

But then you get the claims from Iran itself. IRNA news agency cited Ehsan Jahanian, some deputy governor down in Bushehr province. That area? It hosts that nuclear power plant on the edge. And it got hit by what they called "US-Israeli enemy projectiles." Not much detail though. No damage reports. Just a hit.

And right on top of all this mess the funeral for Khamenei was happening. The burial ceremony. Next to the Imam Reza shrine in Mashhad, his hometown. It really coincided with this escalation.

Khamenei himself. He died during those initial US-Israeli strikes back on February 28th. That was when the whole West Asia conflict kicked off.

His official social media account posted about it. The "sacred body" laid to rest at the Dar al-Zikr section of the shrine. Friday, July 10th, 2026. A lot happened that day. Just chaos layered on top of grief.
