Akanksha Chamola's Journey: Divorce, Freedom, and Identity

Akanksha Chamola finally made up her mind about things. She confirmed the divorce from Gaurav Khanna on Lock Upp Season 2. It sounds like she just doesn't want to get married again.
She said she wants to live entirely on her own terms now. For the first time in her life, she’s not going into that path anymore.
“I don’t want to get married again,” she told everyone inside the house. “I think I am done.”
But there’s this shift happening. She’s going to be living alone. Not under her parents’ roof. Not under a husband’s roof. She’s getting her own house now. Riding solo for life, she said. It felt like a big declaration.
The reason behind the split? It boiled down to one thing, apparently. Their views on having kids. Akanksha talked about it with Shreya Kalra and Sufi Motiwala. She admitted something strange. “Jab hum shaadi mein the, mera maternal instinct kabhi nahi tha.” That’s when things started changing.
She felt she wasn't meant for it. And he seemed okay with that too. But time did its work. She guessed that shifted eventually. A lot of stuff changes over time, doesn’t it?
They met back in November 2016. Married young. Akanksha was just twenty-four then. They were supposed to be this popular couple for a while before everything ended. Getting married so fast. That must feel heavy now, reflecting on how much her life is about to rearrange itself.
And then there’s the other thing she brought up. Being bisexual . She spoke openly about it in that same episode. Women have always been her safe place. It’s a complex feeling. “Mujhe ladkiya pasand hain.” She admires them, she’s attracted to them. That's where she feels comfortable.
Growing up, society pushes this idea of comfort zones. You end up going toward what feels safe. For her, that feminine energy is just… right. It thrives in that space. There are these societal rules about women being just friends or competition. She felt like she didn't fit those boxes. All females are beautiful to her. That’s the tag society gave her, she said. Pure love.
Lock Upp Season 2 is streaming now on ALTBalaji and MX Player.
