Noida International Airport Flooding Video: Clarifications, Allegations, and Weather Context

That video circulating online about flooding at the Noida International Airport really caused some noise. It blew up on social media.

The airport itself, Noida International Airport , finally put out a clarification after that went viral. They said the claim was just false. The footage they showed didn't actually show flooding inside the passenger terminal. It was just reflections bouncing off the shiny floor. Everything is operational though. Systems are functioning exactly as they should be designed.

They urged everyone all news outlets, social media users to check things before spreading stuff like this. Unsubstantiated claims cause real confusion for passengers and everyone else involved. They pointed people toward the airport’s official channels for anything accurate.

This whole thing came after someone shared that video. It was footage supposedly showing water leaking inside the terminal right after some rain hit. But officials had already denied it before, saying no such incident had been reported at all. Authorities maintained that nothing flooded there whatsoever. The original upload, which came from a news portal, was eventually taken down too.

Then things got political. Congress picked up the video. They started questioning the quality of the construction work on the new airport. There were allegations about irregularities in how the project was built. Concerns surfaced about the standards followed during development.

The party wrote that stuff online. Something like, “Noida International Airport, after just 15 minutes of rain…” And then they threw around numbers costing ₹29,500 crore and claimed the BJP’s commission was hidden or covered up. They brought up the fact that Prime Minister Modi had opened the airport only three months prior.

The accusation really shifted into a debate about construction quality. Congress wanted answers from whoever was responsible for the project. Meanwhile, the airport authorities just kept repeating that the video didn't show any actual flooding inside. It’s a standoff.

And you have to remember the weather context too. The India Meteorological Department IMD has been forecasting heavy rainfall across Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, and Uttarakhand on Friday. Red and orange alerts were out for several districts in UP. Muzaffarnagar, Bijnor, Moradabad, Bareilly, Pilibhit, Badaun, Sambhal, and Jyotiba Phule Nagar were all warned about extremely heavy rain possibilities.

It’s not just the forecast. Overnight rain caused serious waterlogging across parts of Noida on Thursday. Traffic got messed up. People trying to commute during rush hour ran into huge problems because of the standing water. Sector 16, Sector 62, and Sector 93 saw roads completely submerged. Commuters were stranded. Some housing societies also reported power cuts because flooding affected the electricity supply in those areas. It just keeps happening.
