The investigation into Ketan Agarwal’s murder really started digging into the backgrounds of the two people involved his fiancée Siya Goyal and her lover Chetan Chaudhary . It wasn't just about finding a killer anymore; it became about understanding how those two actually connected, or failed to connect.
They came from these business-oriented families. You see that in the details. Siya owned a bakery, while Chetan’s father ran something involving dry fruits. That connection is what people believe sparked their relationship. It wasn't some sudden romance; it seemed built on shared professional ground.
Work got them close, apparently. They talked constantly about business. This association reportedly morphed into something romantic. And this continued right up until Siya’s engagement to Ketan Agarwal was finalized. A serious commitment, suddenly shadowed by tragedy.
Police are saying they knew each other for about three years before everything went sideways with the murder case. That's a long time to build something, or perhaps, to hide things within it.
Investigators dug into the communication too. They found records of calls exchanged between them over those six months leading up to Ketan’s death. Two thousand and four calls in total between January and June. And when you crunch that number it added up to 238 hours talking to each other. That kind of time spent is significant.
It also turns out both Siya and Chetan were BBA dropouts. They spent a lot of time together, mostly through work, which eventually just developed into this relationship. It wasn't some perfect fairy tale setup; it was built on shared professional reality.
But there’s always that layer underneath things, isn’t there? The family element came into sharp focus later on. Investigators are looking at whether the opposition from their families played any part in what happened next. Siya’s family knew about her relationship with Chetan. They didn't approve of it.
Ketan’s father also claimed that his side had initially rejected the marriage proposal. That Siya’s family kept pushing, trying to get the alliance finalized before things went official. It makes you wonder what pressure was actually applied. Was this family disapproval a factor in the events that followed? The police are examining exactly that angle now.
And then there's the core allegation about the killing itself. Investigators claim Siya and Chetan made multiple attempts to kill Ketan before he ended up in that gorge at Lohagad Fort on June 18th. What was initially spun as a simple trekking accident? That got reclassified. Murder. Because the family suspicions kicked in, because of evidence showing planning, coordination between them. It’s messy now. Very messy.
