Mahua Moitra's Stance on Political Relationships and Internal Party Conflicts

Mahua Moitra is pushing back now about what some are saying. It’s all about her stance concerning Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari, and she’s insisting that some clip floating around on social media was just taken out of context.

This whole thing kicked off because some commentator on X, the one using “Subytweets,” shared a snippet. The implication there was pretty dramatic that Moitra’s feeling toward Adhikari had shifted completely. They suggested he was now being painted as this kind of "angel." Either something political is actually happening behind the scenes, or the whole clip just missed the point entirely.

When she saw it, she responded right there on X. She strongly shot down the idea that there was some sort of political U-turn. She told people to actually watch the whole interview instead of just grabbing little pieces.

She did acknowledge something from the past though. Yes, she admitted they had a positive working relationship before Adhikari decided to leave the TMC. But here’s the thing: Moitra stressed that she hasn't spoken to him since he walked away. She made it clear her comments were about things that happened then, not some endorsement of his current political game.

Things got deeper when people looked at what she actually shared in that interview. It wasn't just about recent events. Moitra talked about her earlier journey politically. About the emotional support she got from Adhikari back when they were still party colleagues. She remembered how rough it was for her after being shut out of a Lok Sabha ticket in 2014. She said she actually cried all night. And Adhikari, he was the one who gave her that reassurance.

She brought up another memory too. When she first contested an assembly seat back in 2016 from Karimpur. At that time, Adhikari was the only senior leader actually campaigning with her at that debut rally. Those recollections just piled on.

And all this talking… it throws a shadow over what’s happening in West Bengal right now. The state is moving fast. There's a lot of internal fighting going on within the TMC since they lost the assembly elections to the BJP this year. A whole chunk of rebel MLAs and some Lok Sabha MPs have been causing massive friction for Mamata Banerjee’s team lately.

So, when Moitra brings up these structural differences the way the ruling party operates versus how the TMC leadership functions it just draws more attention. It highlights that gap between the cadre-based system everyone talks about in BJP circles and the framework based on personal leadership inside the TMC.

Despite all the noise about her own future, she keeps drawing a hard line. She’s reinforcing where she stands. She seems totally aligned with the core of the TMC camp, Mamata Banerjee’s side. But she is absolutely furious about internal rebellion. She explicitly called out those detractors the people causing trouble inside the party as "traitors" for trying to destabilize things from the inside.

And then there’s that big rumor floating around too. The talk about a potential merger, TMC and Congress. Moitra firmly shut that down. While she admits there might be some shared ideas between those two parties, she stated flatly there is zero truth to any reports suggesting they are looking at merging. It just doesn't line up with what she sees happening.
