Fresh stuff came out in the Ketan Agarwal murder investigation. The police are saying his fiancée, Siya Goyal , had serious reservations about the marriage. She was under pressure from her family, pushing things along anyway.
Investigators got to this conclusion by digging through digital stuff and looking at circumstantial evidence, after questioning the accused. They felt Siya needed more time for herself. She just wasn't mentally ready for the wedding, despite what her family wanted.
A senior police official told ANI about it. He said the accused apparently wasn't prepared for marriage. And she was pressured by her family to accept that proposal.
But things got darker during the probe. The police also alleged something else entirely. Siya had developed feelings for co-accused Chetan Chaudhary. Yet, she still wasn’t ready to marry him either. It seems she planned to keep that relationship going while allegedly plotting Ketan Agarwal's murder.
It all connects back slightly. They first met up with Chaudhary at a Diwali party last year. Things got closer from there. Siya and Chaudhary gradually became close.
Ketan, who was 26, died on June 18th. He fell into a gorge at Lohagad Fort near Pune. At first, everyone thought it was just an accidental fall. Siya had told his family he slipped during a trek. But the investigation took a weird turn. Now police are alleging something much darker.
They suspect that Siya, who was 20, and her alleged lover, Chetan Chaudhary, deliberately pushed him into that gorge.
The CCTV footage from Lohagad Fort proved to be a real turning point. The cameras caught something important. They showed a man in a hooded sweatshirt trailing Ketan and Siya from a distance. Officers later recognized him as Chaudhary. But the clothes were strange. He was wearing a hoodie even though it was hot around 33 deGrees Celsius.
The police checked other spots too. They looked at cameras at the fort's ticket counter, where they saw Ketan and Siya walking together.
One officer involved in the investigation said that finding this footage really raised suspicion. We spotted them walking there.
Then there was another clip. Siya suddenly looked back. And at that exact moment, the man in the hoodie suddenly sat down. That detail stuck with them.
Ketan’s relatives also came forward during the investigation. They revealed that Siya had voiced doubts about the marriage before. She even asked if they could postpone the wedding by a year.
The couple got engaged back in February. The plan was to get married in November at some palace in Udaipur. Investigators suggested that Siya repeatedly pushed Ketan to go with her to Lohagad Fort right before he died.
They visited the fort several times leading up to June 18th. May 31st, then June 4th, June 14th, and finally June 18th. Police also claimed there was an earlier attempt to kill Ketan on June 14th. But that didn't work out. He managed to cling to some bush when he was allegedly pushed off the cliff edge.
