Akansha Ranjan Kapoor on Reproductive Health and Career

Women’s Day. Akansha Ranjan Kapoor used social media for it. She talked about egg freezing. It seemed like that ticking clock really pushed her. Made her take control of her reproductive health.

She mentioned going through injections, dealing with bloating, mood swings, and medications before she finally had the surgery. It sounds rough.

Then there’s this feeling about the female body. She called it ‘extraordinary’. That kind of strength.

But then there's the Bollywood thing. Speaking to News18, she brought up how ageist it feels. Like the pressure is always there, even in her career. “I always feel like I’m losing out on time,” she said. She’s waiting for that Gram Chikitsalay 2 release.

She started talking about time flying by since she debuted. It’s a strange feeling.

“At eighteen when you start, you think you have a whole life ahead of you. Then five or six years in? Zindagi khatam go gayi hai ,” she put it. She asked, “What is happening!” Younger people come in, and they call you ‘ma’ because of your ADs. A few years back, she was the youngest on set. These changes hit so fast.

She started acting with Guilty at twenty-six. Not like other actresses who debut much younger.

“You have to understand everyone has a different path,” she argued. If you aren't a superstar by eighteen, it doesn’t mean failure later. There’s this idea that you must start early. That you need to be married by twenty-eight.

She wrestled with that idea initially. But over time, an epiphany hit her.

“I didn’t have to start at eighteen,” she admitted. “Naturally, I won't have to stop at twenty-eight either. I can wait until thirty-five and really bloom at forty-five. That took a lot of fighting.” She needed to get her feet on the ground.

This realization helped figure out what she actually wanted. Ambition shouldn’t always cost you something. She wants a life, balance. Something fulfilling alongside acting. “I told myself I can’t stop living. Zindagi toh jeeni hai . I want a full life. I refuse to be the person who says, ‘I’ll act and then die.’”

She felt that wanting marriage or kids wasn't the only right move either. You can have a grounded life with people, still trying to conquer things. She thinks women need a life outside of being actors. They shouldn't have to justify it. Shouldn't have to leave everything behind just to be trailblazers.
