General Qamar Javed Bajwa Health and Background

It’s hard to process all this information without a clear structure. It just kind of… piles up.
So, General Qamar Javed Bajwa . The former Chief of Army Staff. Things got complicated for him recently. He’s been re-admitted to the Combined Military Hospital in Rawalpindi. That’s what we hear from people close to the family. It sounds like his health just wasn't holding up anymore, despite all the medical attention he’s been receiving.
Sources tell you that things haven't settled down much. His condition remains unstable. Doctors are still running tests, pushing for more and more advanced examinations. There’s this sense of real urgency hanging over everything right now.
Back when this started, it was a fall at his own residence in February of this year. He ended up with injuries to his head and back from that incident. He was taken into a military hospital straight away after the fall happened. Then he got discharged, finally, in late March after some treatment.
But that’s where the story gets messy. The sources indicate that things didn't stabilize after that initial period of care. His condition just kept slipping. That’s why he ended up back at CMH Rawalpindi for further evaluation and whatever else they need to look into now.
We have some background on him, obviously. He held the top spot as the 10th Army Chief from November 2016 until his retirement in November 2022. A significant career, a lot of responsibility behind that rank.
What led up to that fall? That’s where things get speculative, you know? Some information suggests it might have been linked to something else entirely. Reports floated around the incident the Inter-Services Public Relations side described it as just an accident. They mentioned he either slipped or lost consciousness because of a suspected heart issue. Specifically, some talk pointed toward a third-deGree AV heart block.
After that initial tumble, he was admitted to CMH again. There, they looked into everything. Treatment involved things like possible pacemaker support, trying to manage whatever physical damage had occurred.
Then there’s the shift in reports. By early March of 2026, unverified claims started surfacing about something much more serious. The idea that he developed a severe brain hemorrhage, supposedly stemming from those earlier head injuries. It’s all just speculation at this stage, obviously. But the alleged consequences are grim.
These claims suggest things got really bad internally. Disorientation. Memory loss. An inability to recognize family members. Close relatives. That kind of disruption is something you can only imagine. It paints a very difficult picture for everyone involved.
Right now, it feels like there’s a gap in the official story. CNN-News18 has learned about the monitoring happening inside the hospital walls. Doctors are keeping a close watch on him. Examinations are ongoing. But the real sticking point remains an official statement. Something from the military or from his family itself is still missing. We just wait for that to come out.
