Samay Raina's Comeback: 'India’s Got Latent' Season Two and 'Still Alive' Special

You know, that Samay Raina thing, ‘India’s Got Latent’? It’s finally coming back. Season two is happening now. But there’s this twist attached to it all. He announced it’ll stream on Netflix and YouTube. Both places.
After how long? People have been waiting forever for the next bit of Samay’s stuff, you know? All that hype from season one just built up.
The announcement video with Balraj Singh was pretty clear though. They said the episodes will drop everywhere at once. No difference in length, which is something. Simultaneous streaming on Netflix and YouTube.
And they hinted it would be unfiltered. Like, really raw content. Netflix put that out on their Instagram handle for the news.
But then you got Ashish Chanchlani jumping in. He didn't hold back. He brought up the mess from before. The whole controversy around the first season.
He posted a comment asking Samay to just slap a disclaimer on it. Something to make fighting legal stuff easier.
“Is baar disclaimer daal dena please case ladne mein easy hota hai,” he wrote. That’s what Ashish said. A plea, really. Trying to smooth over the trouble ahead. Legal battles looming, that’s the reality there.
Meanwhile, Samay himself had made a big move. A proper comeback after being gone for more than a year. The ‘India’s Got Latent’ drama hit hard, but he didn't disappear completely. He was back in the spotlight with something huge online.
His stand-up special, ‘Still Alive,’ dropped on YouTube. And it blew up. Fifty-three point four million views. That number is massive. It sounds like it might be the most-watched full-length stand-up comedy special ever uploaded to a single platform.
It’s kind of wild. He’s reportedly become the first comedian with that record globally on one video site.
‘Still Alive’ wasn't just any show, either. It was his first official stand-up special. And what he talked about? Everything. The whole messy story behind ‘India’s Got Latent’. His year away from public view. The personal and financial struggles he faced. Childhood bullying. Being Kashmiri Pandit. Mental health stuff. And the support from fans, friends, everything. It was all laid out there in that hour and twenty-one minute performance.
For anyone who missed the backstory, it started in February of last year. Ranveer Allahbadia, Ashish Chanchlani, Apoorva Mukhija were on the panel for the show. One comment from Allahbadia sparked a huge backlash. FIRS got filed against Samay Raina and the others involved. That’s where things got really messy.
After that fallout, Raina pulled the show off YouTube. And Allahbadia eventually apologized publicly. But even with all that trouble hanging over it, Samay still signaled that Season Two was going to happen. It's still in development somehow. Just moving forward.
