
Indices kicked off higher on Tuesday, tracking some positive global vibes. Buying interest was definitely hitting auto and FMCG stocks.
Around 9:33 am IST. The BSE Sensex jumped up, about 184 points. That’s 0.24%. It settled at 76,662.78. Nifty 50 followed suit, gaining 56.30 points. Also 0.24%. It hit 23,922.05.
The Sensex itself moved around a bit. Intraday high was up to 76,713.86. Low was 76,538.37 after opening at 76,545.21. On the NSE side, Nifty touched 23,937 early on.
Look at the winners. Eternal was up big. 2.51%. Then Mahindra & Mahindra moved up 2.05%. Titan saw 1.80% gain. Hindustan Unilever also edged up, 1.68%. UltraTech Cement got a small bump, 0.90%. Adani Ports managed 0.82%.
Infosys and TCS were in the Green too. But Reliance Industries , Axis Bank , HDFC Bank they just posted modest gains. Not huge ones.
The losers felt sharper. Bajaj Finserv was the biggest drag, falling 2%. Tech Mahindra dipped a bit, minus 1.05%. Larsen & Toubro lost 0.58%. ICICI Bank and NTPC both slid by 0.45%. HCL Technologies took a small hit too, -0.26%.
Broader market sentiment was positive overall though. Nifty Midcap Select advanced 0.56%. And the Nifty Smallcap 100 gained 0.50%. Still buying happening somewhere out there.
Sector wise stuff... Nifty Media really led the pack, up 2.93%. Then FMCG followed, 1.28%. Auto was up 0.81%. Realty moved up 0.77%. But then you had Nifty Metal . It dropped by 0.72%. That made it the worst sector in early trade. Nifty PSU Bank and Financial Services also lagged a bit lower.
