Riteish Deshmukh's Reaction to Celebrity Questions on Lock Upp Season 2

Riteish Deshmukh, the actor and host, looked genuinely annoyed during the Lock Upp Season 2 launch. It wasn't just polite. There was a palpable irritation hanging around him when some reporter brought up Salman Khan and Sanjay Dutt in the conversation.
The whole thing felt awkward, you know? A standard media interaction turned suddenly prickly.
It started with a question. Really pointed. The reporter asked Riteish if he would invite Salman and Sanjay Dutt onto the show because they allegedly had some sort of ‘experience’ with lock-ups.
Then came the actual quote, which carried all the weight: “Jo aapke sabse kareebi log hain, Salman Khan and Sanjay Dutt, inhe kaafi experience hai lock-up ka. Toh kya aap inhe Lock Upp mein layenge, aur saza kya denge?” That was the setup. It wasn't a casual query.
Riteish just shut it down immediately. He didn’t even seem to consider answering it. He said something sharp. “Sabse pehle mujhe nahi lagta aapke sawaal ko jawaab deke koi dignity dena chahunga. Aapka sawaal hai, mujhe jawaab nahi dena.” It hung there. A clear dismissal. The way he delivered it made it obvious he wasn't interested in wading into that kind of speculation right then and there.
The room definitely noticed. People watching the launch saw him immediately drawing a line. He signaled clearly: this topic was off-limits for him.
But the reporter didn’t take the hint. It kept pushing. It insisted it was simple stuff, just asking if those two stars would ever be brought on board.
Riteish repeated himself, refusing to engage further. He shifted focus entirely to his role as host. “Nahi launga,” he stated flatly. He explained his position, trying to draw a boundary around it. “Kyunki mera kaam hosting ka hai. Aur jo inmates aate hain, mujhe nahi pata hota hai as hosts.” He paused there. A little break in the flow. Then he added that whatever guests came onto Lock Upp , they just interact with them. That’s the job. Not deciding who gets in or out based on past experiences.
It was a messy exchange. Not the neat, polished thing you usually see from celebrities. It felt raw. The whole interaction showed how uncomfortable these kinds of celebrity questions can be when they hit someone directly about their personal circles and perceived experiences.
Later things settled down. Lock Upp 2 is still happening. Farah Khan and Riteish Deshmukh are hosting it this time around. And it’s coming to Netflix starting June 27th. That was the main takeaway, I guess. The irritation moment aside, the show itself is moving forward regardless of those celebrity tangents.
