Arvind Kejriwal's Roadshow and Welfare Promises in Mohali

Arvind Kejriwal was out there on Sunday, doing that roadshow thing in Mohali. It followed the Municipal Corporation elections, right? He was talking about the Punjab government’s welfare stuff. Free electricity. Health insurance coverage up to ten lakh rupees for health coverage, they were pushing that hard.
He was with Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann too, addressing the crowd. It felt like a big turnout, you know? People were gathering along the route just to see them. Party workers and supporters lined up everywhere trying to welcome the leaders. And of course, some senior AAP folks, like Manish Sisodia, they were there too. Just showing up.
Kejriwal spent time talking about what the government had managed over those last four and a half years. Trying to spin it positively, I guess. Improving public services. Cutting down on household expenses. That’s the line they keep running with.
He listed the actual things: free electricity was rolled out. The Aam Aadmi Clinics were set up. And that health insurance cover, worth ten lakh rupees? They said it was provided.
But then he pivoted. He brought in something new, something for women. He mentioned that soon, women would start getting monthly financial assistance under some proposed scheme from the government. Rs 1,000 and Rs 1,500 deposited into their bank accounts. That’s what they were talking about.
It was a lot of things thrown out there. Electricity for everyone during the day. Roads being built across Punjab. Farmers getting power access when they needed it. It was all bundled up in that one statement. A massive list, really.
He thanked the voters for backing them in those elections. Said the result was an endorsement of what the state government had been doing. That kind of political spin always comes out in these moments. Endorsement.
But he wasn’t done. He made it clear there was more work left. He said, yeah, still a ton of projects and welfare initiatives that needed to be completed. And then the classic plea: keep backing the party for the next election. That part felt really direct, almost pleading.
Bhagwant Mann also stepped up. He addressed the same gathering. Thanking everyone for showing up. Describing how the public reacted saying it was encouraging. Focus remained on delivering those welfare schemes and development projects across the state. That’s what he emphasized. The focus staying put.
The roadshow itself drew huge crowds in Mohali. It wasn't just a small gathering; people were out there, really showing up for these announcements. And you knew some of the real power players were there too Sisodia and the others alongside him. Just part of the scene. A lot was happening under that sun.
