The Emotional and Medical Journey of Dipika Kakar and Shoaib Ibrahim

Dipika Kakar and Shoaib Ibrahim are really going through it right now. It’s just tough.
Shoaib’s father, his dad, was admitted to the hospital after suffering a brain hemorrhage. That’s the starting point for all this stress. And Dipika is in the thick of it too. She’s undergoing her own treatment.
She recently posted something on her YouTube channel, sharing an update on how things have been lately. It paints a picture of real strain for the whole family.
She talked about what happened with her health. We’re talking immunotherapy . She mentioned they managed to get one infusion of double immunotherapy done. The next session is coming up soon. She said it will be through IV, and so far, no side effects have shown up. That’s a small positive note amidst everything else.
But the experience wasn't smooth. It got messy quickly.
She told her audience that after that first big treatment, she dealt with some severe back pain. Not just a little ache. Real, heavy pain when those strong drugs went into her body. She also mentioned feeling lethargic. Mild fever too. But she stressed the reports came back normal. So those side effects? They weren't caused by the medicine itself. That’s something.
Still, they had to keep going. The immunotherapy is continuing. And that means more testing. Blood tumour markers and scans are needed now. They have to look into the cancer in depth. They ran a bunch of blood tests just to study things closer up. All of this process has been incredibly draining for Shoaib. He’s already carrying so much stress about Dipika, and then having his father go through something major… it was just too much for him. He is really facing all of it alone right now.
She spoke about how her husband managed things while she was going through this. When she had that first immunotherapy session, he wanted to be right there beside her. He stayed by her side in the hospital. But this time? She couldn’t be there. Her health held her back.
Meanwhile, they also have to give time to Ruhaan. There are so many things happening at once. These are all testing times. It feels like everything is on a tightrope. Still, there's a thread of hope woven through it. They are hopeful that somehow, it will all work out eventually.
Shoaib shared his side too. In his vlog, he spoke about Dipika’s next planned therapy session. He gave a specific date. July 2nd is when she is scheduled for the next immunotherapy . Before that date, there will be blood tests. They need to see how much the first treatment actually worked. That result will decide what happens next in the treatment course. It's all very measured out now.
It’s complicated stuff.
There’s also some background history you have to look at. Recently, Dipika underwent surgery for a cyst removal. And then there was another procedure back in June 2025. She had tumour removal surgery after that. The big news she shared about those operations was that she came out clear. Tumour-free. She keeps documenting this journey publicly on her channel. It’s all layered, isn't it?
The Ibrahim family is dealing with a lot of pressure right now. You see the impact spreading everywhere. It's not just one thing happening; it’s a cascade of stress and medical uncertainty pushing them forward. There’s this constant undercurrent of worry about what comes next for everyone involved. The way they navigate these tests, balancing personal health with family emergencies it feels incredibly heavy.
It’s the testing phase that seems to consume all their energy now. Every result matters. Every decision is weighted heavily by fear and hope mixed together. You watch them dealing with the physical toll of treatment, the emotional weight of watching loved ones suffer, and the logistics of medical timelines colliding with personal life. It's messy in a way that feels deeply human. They are just trying to hold onto stability when everything around them is shifting so fast. The reality of these big health battles often looks less like neat updates and more like this uneven, sprawling narrative of endurance.
