Sidharth Malhotra and Tamannaah Bhatia Team Up for Vvan: Force of the Forest

Sidharth Malhotra and Tamannaah Bhatia are teaming up again for Vvan: Force of the Forest . It’s a folk thriller, and things seem to be heating up behind the scenes.

There’s talk now about extending the shooting schedule. They're planning an extra ten days just to nail those key sequences. Especially the climax. Apparently, after looking at the final cut, the makers felt they could make things bigger. More dramatic.

Mid-day got a source talking. They said the team just felt there was scope to punch up some scenes. Make them feel grander. Because you’re building a world like Vvan . Every single detail matters when you’re digging into something as unique as that. The makers are apparently really happy with how it's shaping up so far. These additions should give the final act an even richer payoff for everyone watching.

The release date is finally locked in, though. Trade Analyst Tarn Adarsh put it out there on X. He announced that Vvan the folklore-driven thriller starring Sidharth Malhotra and Tamannaah Bhatia is set for August 28th, 2026. That’s the date. And sure enough, it’s tagged with #RakshaBandhan.

It’s a story rooted deep in Indian folklore. Set right in the mythical heartlands of Central India. They shot parts of it in real forest locations. Trying to keep that authenticity, you know? Real depth.

The whole setup is interesting too. Directed by Deepak Mishra and Arunabh Kumar. Production handled by Shobha Kapoor, Ektaa R Kapoor, and Arunabh Kumar. It’s a joint venture between Balaji Motion Pictures and TVF. That kind of backing changes things.

So, where do these actors fit in? Sidharth Malhotra was recently doing Param Sundari with Janhvi Kapoor. That film got mixed reactions, didn't it? Didn't leave that huge impression people were hoping for.

Tamannaah’s next big thing is a biopic role. She’ll be playing Shantaram’s second wife-actress Jayashree. It’s interesting how much they are working on these historical pieces. Their first look posters came out recently, and the reaction was intense.

Tamannaah shared some thoughts after seeing those initial shots. She said something about the poster for Jayashree ji. She felt it was an ode to her grace and legacy. It’s a really deep thing she brought up. She mentioned how stepping into that world has already been intimate, even in the early days. That V. Shantaram vision changed cinema way before it was time. Becoming Jayashree taught her more than she expected. And she just looks forward to what this journey continues to bring. It sounds like they are really digging into the emotional core of these stories now.
