Aleema Khan on Sustained Protest and Imran Khan's Struggle

Aleema Khan, Imran Khan’s sister, has shut down calls for just a single day protest on August 5th. She said that agitation can’t stop there. It has to keep going until the government actually lets him get proper medical treatment and ends his solitary confinement.

“We need to make sure this protest isn’t just for one day,” she stated. “We have to increase the pressure so much that they don't just give Imran Khan treatment, they end his solitary confinement.”

She called for a sustained street movement instead of symbolic demonstrations. She felt it was time for PTI supporters, especially those who followed Imran Khan, to actually step out and keep protesting rather than going home after some show.

“The time is now,” she insisted. “When we step out, we won’t go back inside. Going to Adiala that scared the people of Punjab away.”

She pointed toward Khyber Pakhtunkhwa as where the movement needs to start. She said that region should lead it, and then Punjab would follow with full support right after. That was her stance on leadership for this push.

She brought up a history there too. Apparently, about a year ago, Imran Khan had asked the PTI organization in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa to be strengthened. He had asked Sohail Afridi to start a street movement then.

“We have to move that forward,” she said. “Strengthen the organization. All workers need to push their MNAs and MPAs.”

She also made some sharp remarks about elected representatives. They were afraid to mobilize people, she claimed. They worried people wouldn't actually join them. She pushed back hard on this grouping talk.

“MNAs and MPs are scared,” she said. “They think if we come out, no one will follow us. Agencies are spreading rumors about grouping. We deny that there is any grouping.”

She told them to prepare to leave. Push the movement forward against what she called injustice and oppression . For Pakistan, for Imran Khan they have to strengthen this struggle. They must stand up against it all.

Imran Khan himself had made some statements, which Aleema Khan quoted. He said that struggle is worship. Standing against this oppression.

The focus quickly shifted back to the immediate need for health. She raised concerns about Imran Khan’s physical state. Specifically, there was talk of a clot in his eye. Why would that happen?

“Understand our pain,” she asked. “We are worried about Imran Khan’s eye. Why did a clot form?”

The main point of this entire movement, she stressed, was putting real pressure on the government so he could get treatment. That seemed to be the goal driving everything right now.

She also got into the reports about talks happening. She questioned what these negotiations were actually about.

“When we hear that talks are going on, these people are just begging,” she scoffed. “What exactly are you negotiating?”

She brought up a figure that eighty percent of Pakistan supported Imran Khan. She urged the party leadership to look at their own political strength before they even thought about talking. They needed to negotiate from a position of power.

Imran Khan’s earlier stance was also referenced. He had said he wouldn't surrender, even if it meant dying in prison. Aleema Khan quoted him on that idea too. Something about not bowing down to the Yazid of this era, even facing jail time. It felt like a statement about unbreakable resolve.
