Analysis of Horror Film Box Office Performance and Growth

That whole box office is just nuts right now. Everyone chasing those big star releases. But somehow, one horror film manages to stick around. Haunted 3D: Echoes Of The Past . It’s quietly finding its space despite the noise.

It’s got that slow build going on through the opening weekend. Not exactly a smash hit in terms of hype, but it's holding people watching. That kind of steady growth is rare these days, especially when marketing seems thin.

Vikram Bhatt directed this one. The supernatural thriller hit theaters June 12th. And it’s been ticking away at the ticket counters steadily. Mahaakshay Chakraborty, Chetna Pande, Hemant Pandey are in key spots. They bring something to the screen.

The numbers coming in are showing some movement. Sacnilk puts out that they made ₹3.25 crore on the second day alone. That’s a decent jump. Thirty percent up from Day 1, which was ₹2.50 crore. People are definitely finding a reason to come back. Footfalls improved Saturday.

The India net collection is now hitting ₹5.75 crore total. And gross earnings? We’re looking at ₹6.78 crore overall in the country so far. It’s not huge, but it's growing. Growth against all that competition is where it gets interesting.

It opened right alongside a bunch of other big names. Main Vaapas Aaunga with Diljit Dosanjh and Sharvari. And there was Kangana Ranaut’s entry, Bharat Bhhagya Viddhaata . So the film had to fight for attention in that crowded window. It didn't get all the fanfare it might have deserved.

But it managed something. Despite the release chaos and hardly any big promotional push it carved out its own little audience during the weekend. That momentum, even small, is important right now.

And then there’s the history attached to it. This isn't just a standalone movie. It carries that legacy from Haunted 3D back in 2011. That film was huge back then. A real horror success. It built up some fans over the years, you know?

The budget stuff is hazy though. No one has officially spilled the beans on the production cost. But industry whispers suggest it ran roughly ₹15 crore to get made. That’s a chunk of money for a thriller.

Now, the real test starts now. The next few days are going to be critical. It needs to keep this pace up. It needs to figure out how to pull in more cash and maybe recover some of that initial investment. For right now, that Day 2 jump feels like a small victory. A sign that people still care about this kind of stuff, even when there are bigger titles looming around the corner.
