Controversy and Reactions: Pranit More Apology and Social Commentary

Samyuktha Hegde really went off about Pranit More’s latest apology. It was all tied up in that whole mess from his show, where some audience member, Himanshu Jangra , made some comments. The initial spark was about something ridiculously small some guy spent money on chicken biryani and felt entitled to something back.

Pranit just laughed when that derogatory thing came out during the crowd work segment instead of pushing back. That’s where the whole controversy started blowing up online.

Now Pranit finally put out this apology video, trying to smooth things over. He said he deserved the criticism for letting that guy speak, but then he claimed he got carried away. He admitted it was a lapse in judgment. He felt like he should have stopped him or stood up for himself, but he didn't.

But Samyuktha slammed the apology video hard. She posted something on Instagram. It wasn’t about whether he got carried away, though. She basically said that his reaction showed who he really is. She called it shameful. And then she jumped straight into something much bigger.

She brought up rape culture . Said that the way he was rolling around laughing on stage? That's what you truly are. She suggested that the mind of most people in the country is conditioned to think this kind of thing is okay, but it absolutely isn’t. Her apology meant nothing, she said.

It got really intense there. She felt disgust everywhere. Not just Pranit or that one guy; every single person in the room was a problem. Comedy only works when things aren't normalized like this stuff. Don’t try to sell anything as humor and expect people to just swallow it. Especially when you look at how many reports come in four alleged rapes reported every hour, what kind of joke is that?

Meanwhile, the folks from Bigg Boss reacted too.

Kunickaa Sadanand weighed in first. She was softer, talking about mistakes being made by everyone. But she pointed out the lack of courage to own them. She said Pranit was a good guy with right values, but sometimes entertainers just get swept up when people are laughing and reacting.

She hoped people would forgive him. And she added that maybe people needed to change their whole attitude towards women. She tried to frame it as an inherited mindset, not personal blame. God bless him, she said, hoping he’d come back with better content. Stay strong, stay mindful.

Then there was Shehbaz Badesha . His comment was short, almost dismissive, but it carried a different weight. He just said, "you are the best bro. People who accept mistakes are the big ones. You accepted that, that's great."

It felt like the whole thing just dissolved into this messy stream of reactions. One person trying to demand moral outrage, another offering weary forgiveness, and another just making a quick, slightly awkward statement. It wasn't neat at all. Just raw noise about how things are supposed to be funny versus what they actually are in this country right now.
