CBSE Student Appeals and Social Media Reaction to Academic Grievances

You see all this noise every results season. Proud parents, interviews. Big celebrations. Then there’s the other side of it the desperate stuff. The hilarious hail-mary plays from students who feel they’re right on the edge of failing. And now, with CBSE in the middle of all that recent drama, everyone is just throwing their grievances online. Seriously, every single student turning to social media to vent, whatever it is.

Sarthak Raj's Appeal to CBSE

Take Sarthak Raj. He claims he's a CBSE student. But he went public, you know? He appealed for some academic leniency. It blew up. He was scraping by on his math score, agonizingly close to passing the board exam. So instead of going through the usual channels, he just tweeted directly at the Central Board and Prime Minister Modi. Straight to the top.

His first post was a plea. Something like: “Dear CBSE, I am Sarthak Raj. Got 27 in Maths. Need just six marks to pass. Personal stuff messed up my performance. Please give grace marks and save my year. College counseling has already started.” That’s how it started.

But nothing instantly changed. The score didn't magically flip. So he doubled down. A second tweet came out, a compromise attempt. He said he was ready for the compartment exam. But there was a condition attached. A very specific one. “I can sit for the compartment test, but I got really good marks in Physics, Chemistry, and English, just Math threw me off. CBSE, please give everyone ten marks grace.”

Public Reaction and Commentary

The internet ate it up. Naturally. People were talking about his weird negotiation style. Confusion over what passing actually means. Some people just laughed at the sheer audacity of bargaining with a national board.

You got comments like:

  • “Maths not Mathing here 27 pe to pass ho bhai tum.” Simple, direct dismissal.
  • “Bhai 😂 what new scheme is this? You should have asked the teacher for grace marks in class. And bro asking CBSE for grace marks… insane mentality.”

Oggy Janta Party jumped in too. They wrote something about how there was no such option during their board exams back then. A real lament, I guess. 😭

Some users just leaned into the old scolding vibe. Blaming social media culture for whatever academic shortfall happened. One guy told Sarthak to stop making reels and focus on studies instead. If he thought the checking was wrong, he should have filled out the revaluation form. Practical advice mixed with pure annoyance.

Meanwhile, some others just gave real-world takes. “Sorry to hear that Sarthak, but you need to work hard. Do the compartment exam. They won’t give grace marks.” That felt like solid ground.

There was also a piece of info floating around: CBSE mentioned something in their terms and conditions about providing grace marks if the passing percentage drops compared to last year. Something that offered a tiny bit of official context. But even with that, the sentiment stuck. It wasn't enough for some. The feeling is just messy. People are reacting based on what they know, not what the rules dictate.
