Dhanush and Siruthai Siva Action Film Project Details

Dhanush and Siruthai Siva are apparently teaming up for something big. A major action entertainer. That’s what’s swirling around right now. The chatter suggests this thing might finally hit screens sometime in January 2027. That’s when both the actor and the director are supposed to be done with their current stuff.
Pinkvilla picked up on that, quoting some DT Next report saying it’s going to be a rural-based action film, something grounded. Dhanush is expected to work with Siruthai Siva on this. Dates are being slotted starting from January 2027 already. You know, the usual waiting game, but there’s a sense that things are actually moving.
But details? They're still mostly locked down. The project seems to have Mythri Movie Makers backing it up. That could mean an official announcement surfaces around Pongal next year. Nothing confirmed yet from either Dhanush or the filmmakers themselves. Just the expectation hanging there.
And then there’s the other news, which is already out. In January, Dhanush announced his next thing tentatively called D55 . He confirmed Amaran director Rajkumar Periasamy will be steering the ship this time. It got a lot of buzz on social media right away. Photos and team shots popped up instantly. Wunderbar Films shared it all with those handles, tagging everyone involved.
#D55 – a grand new beginning... felt like an immediate reaction from fans, lots of fire emojis flying around. Everyone was talking about who else might be in the mix. Sai Pallavi is rumored to be playing the female co-lead. And don't forget Mammootty. Buzz suggests he’s also in talks for a key role. It just keeps shifting.
It’s weird how these things connect, isn't it? You have this new action project looming, and then you have the context of what came before. Dhanush’s last big thing was Kara . That film itself is set way back in the nineties. It dealt with a thief trying to escape his criminal history but running right back into trouble when his ancestral home gets seized by a bank. Vignesh Raja and Alfred Prakash wrote it. Vels Film International and Think Studios produced it.
It had a cast of names thrown in there K. S. Ravikumar, Suraj Venjaramoodu, Karunas, Jayaram, Prithviraj, even Sreeja Ravi. Sacnilk said Kara pulled in a chunk around thirty-seven point five crore net in India. And gross worldwide hit fifty-three point six five crore.
But the reception was mixed. The early OTT release just added to that ongoing conversation about how fast movies are jumping from the cinema screen straight into streaming platforms. It’s all moving, quickly.
