The Viral Escape: Remote Work and Road Trips from Bengaluru to Chikkamagaluru

Man, you see what happened? This guy from Bengaluru just went completely viral. Swapped out the usual city grind that absolute nightmare of traffic and office routine for something totally different. He headed for Chikkamagaluru , those misty hills.

He left home at 4:30 am. Early. Managed to hit that coffee town right on time for work. It felt less like a commute, more like some kind of escape route. Remote work suddenly looks way more appealing when you frame it like this. A getaway.

Ankit posted it all up on Instagram. Showed how he just blended the travel and the actual working without even taking a single day off. People really started reacting to that setup. Tons of folks were wishing they could do the same thing right now. It hit differently online, I guess.

He explained in the video that sitting in an office every single day? It gets boring fast. Uninspiring. He needed a change. A total shift in scenery. So he decided to spend the week working from Chikkamagaluru. And he basically invited everyone along for the ride virtually.

Getting it organized wasn't simple, though. He had to plan things out with his friend, "Sachiv ji." They nailed the timing. Since they had that noon meeting looming, they kicked off the trip at 4:30 am on a Friday. That gave them a buffer against Bengaluru’s insanity. Seriously good move avoiding the worst of the traffic early.

They hit the road, mostly sticking to NH 44 and then switching over to NH 75 . Ankit said leaving before sunrise was smart. Roads were actually pretty clear. Much quicker than it would have been later in the day.

First stop came around 7:30 am at Dhruvathare. Stopped for some breakfast there, just a breather. Then they kept going towards Chikkamagaluru proper. Ankit mentioned that the highway stretch between Bengaluru and Hassan felt pretty decent. Not terrible.

There were a few little detours, of course. But overall, the drive itself was smooth. Comfortable enough.

As they moved past Belur, the landscape really started changing. You see those lush Greens? Rolling hills everywhere. Ankit described it as one of the most beautiful road trips near Bengaluru. Just stunning scenery unfolding.

They finally got settled in around 11 am. Enough time to drop bags and get set up before work kicked off. No time for lingering, though. He didn't treat it like a vacation. Immediately, he switched into full work mode. Laptop open. Messages checked. Meetings handled. Back to coding, surrounded by that quiet atmosphere of Chikkamagaluru’s coffee country.

The video just exploded online. People were commenting nonstop. It drew admiration, curiosity... and some real envy.

You see the kind of stuff people said? One person immediately asked, “Where did you stay in Chikmagalur? I can’t find anywhere with decent Wi-Fi for my video calls.” Practical stuff cutting through the romance a bit.

Then there were the pure aesthetic reactions. Someone just hit you with emojis beautiful scenery vibes 😌🍃⛰️. Pure appreciation for the view, obviously.

And then some of the comments sort of touched on the lifestyle choice. One person joked something about him being the 'Maze bhai' or whatever reference was flying around. Then another just threw out a food recommendation: “You should have gone to Swathi Delicacy! It’s the best!!” Just random advice mixed in with the admiration.

It wasn't just about the drive, you know? It was that immediate switch. Trading concrete and horns for misty hills. That feeling of control over your environment. And how that simple action just caught fire on social media.
