Yogi Adityanath's Vision for Aligarh: Defence Manufacturing and Development

Yogi Adityanath talked about Aligarh on Monday. He said it’s going to become a big place for making defense stuff, a supply hub. This direction came from Prime Minister Modi approving that Defence Manufacturing Corridor.

“Development will keep moving,” he said. “It won't stop or slow down. The double-engine government is working with this commitment.”

Modi’s approval, the corridor it gave Aligarh a new path. Now it’s set to be a major centre for defence production and supply. That was the main takeaway from him during the event where he inaugurated things.

He laid the foundation stone for 85 projects. Lots of money involved. Over four hundred sixty-two crore rupees. This went to Aligarh, Kol, and the Municipal Corporation area. Just some numbers thrown out there.

During that whole thing, Yogi also handed out certificates. Welfare schemes stuff. He got a memento too. Thanked the public representatives for making these things happen. Congratulated everyone in Aligarh. Standard political choreography, really.

He used the time to look over what was already happening. Reviewing projects. Approving new ones. Trying to speed up existing work right there in the district.

Then he shifted focus. He brought up history, kind of throwing it in there. Baba Khereshwar Mahadev, Baba Akhileshwar Mahadev. Those old spiritual spots. They gave Aligarh its identity. And Raja Mahendra Pratap Singh. The national hero. Remember him? He called for freedom back in 1915 by going to Afghanistan.

Yogi paid tribute to Raja Mahendra Pratap Singh and former CM Kalyan Singh. Said the late leader really shaped Aligarh’s identity after independence. That he played a key role there.

He noted something about the background too. Born into farming, ordinary family. But still made a big impact on Aligarh’s new identity in independent India. Interesting contrast, that.

Then back to industry. He highlighted the potential. Aligarh already had global recognition for its locks and hardware industries. Now, this is where it connects. Defence manufacturing ecosystem. Playing a major role in making India self-reliant. Manufacturing weapons and equipment for national security. They said the city was ready for it.

The pace of development, he repeated. Uninterrupted. No stopping.

But infrastructure too. He pointed to the ongoing projects. Raja Mahendra Pratap Singh University needed fixing up. New facilities being built fast there now. Smart City plans. Roads. Hospitals. Colleges. All moving along.

For just Aligarh region? Public Works Department approved nearly two thousand eight hundred crore for these things. That’s massive, I guess. And the highway construction by the Union Ministry of Road Transport and Highways is speeding up. Ring Road work, flyovers, polytechnics, hospitals all under construction. People need to elect right leaders for this stuff. Vision matters.

Today, all those projects worth over four hundred sixty-two crore got inaugurated. In Kol and Aligarh City Assembly constituencies. Seems like a lot of visible movement happening.

Yogi inspected the university too. Checked on the work going on. Promised that development would keep following what the region actually needs.

He also got some news while he was there. A fire in Lucknow. He said he had to leave right away for the state capital. Then he made a promise he’d come back to Aligarh later. To review things more. To push things forward faster.

The attendance list was long, you know? Minister-in-Charge Chaudhary Laxmi Narayan, Sandeep Singh, Surendra Diler. MPs and MLAs from around there. Legislative Council members. Mayor Prashant Singhal. District Panchayat Chairperson Vijay Singh. Lots of names involved in this picture.
