Yogi Adityanath's Development and Vision for Uttar Pradesh

Yogi Adityanath, Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, kicked off some big stuff on Sunday in Mahoba. Eight-eight development projects, over six hundred ninety-seven crore rupees worth. It all happened at Modi Gram, during the 12th International Yoga Day.

Before getting there though, he was already involved in the yoga day itself. He went to Jhansi, Rani Lakshmibai Fort grounds. Prime Minister Modi organized it. Adityanath said yoga is everywhere. Across fifty-seven thousand Gram Panchayats. Eight hundred twenty-five development blocks. Three hundred fifty tehsils. Seventy-five districts. And seven hundred sixty-two urban local bodies in Uttar Pradesh all participated that day.

He spoke about what yoga actually does, mind you. It links the body to the mind and soul. A healthy body means a healthy mind. That leads to good intellect. Then good soul. And that opens up public welfare. But then he shifted focus quickly. He talked about how some people pollute minds with negativity. Illegal encroachments. Tainted souls working with bad mentality ruined Bundelkhand.

Then there was the personal side. Adityanath mentioned climbing Gorakhgiri Mountain after twelve or thirteen years. Prayers at Shiva temple. Visiting that cave where Guru Gorakhnath meditated for penance. He suggested trekking competitions. Local, district level, state, national a whole week before the Mahoba Mahotsav. And he wanted restaurants and hotels opened up around there.

He announced something else too. A ropeway installation on Gorakhgiri Mountain. Said it would be adventure tourism territory. Seems like a mix of spiritual stuff and pushing development.

On infrastructure, the Ken-Betwa Canal project is moving along. It’s supposed to finally fix Bundelkhand's water shortage once it’s done. That’s huge. And he brought up the Arjun Sahayak Project. Said his government finished it, even though it was left hanging for decades. Irrigation for thousands of hectares in Mahoba and Banda. Modi inaugurated that back in twenty-one.

Then there’s the defense angle bleeding into things. BrahMos missiles. Those made in Uttar Pradesh’s Defence Manufacturing Corridor. They were used during Operation Sindoor against Pakistan. Adityanath wants to make Bundelkhand, including areas like Mahoba, Hamirpur, Chitrakoot and Jhansi, missile manufacturing hubs soon.

Mahoba itself got some recognition too. He said they managed to get a Geographical Indication tag for the Dashavari Paan just by geo-tagging it. He pushed for that variety to be the region’s signature product. And local folk traditions getting more notice.

He looked back at Mahoba's history. It wasn’t just about granite for tiles or houses. This land, he argued, nurtured brave people. Nurtured participation in nation-building.

There was also the farmer compensation mess. Long-pending disputes over land given for the Kabrai Dam. His government finally sorted that out. And projects like Ratoli Dam, Bawani Dam, Kachnauda Dam and those Chilli Sprinkler Irrigation systems are currently being wrapped up.

Finally, he pointed to the Industrial Development Authority BIDA. They’re positioning Mahoba, Hamirpur, Banda, Chitrakoot, Jhansi as the biggest industrial hub in all of Bundelkhand. A real shift happening there.
