Partha Bhowmick Moves Out of Delhi Bungalow: Political Implications for Trinamool Congress

Something’s shifting around here with all the noise about the Trinamool Congress MPs right now. Partha Bhowmick , one of them, has formally moved out of that government bungalow in New Delhi. It was basically where the party ran things, their real base in the capital. He actually asked for that move himself, you know?

The official paperwork says he got a new spot. An allotment order came through from the Lok Sabha Secretariat on June 9th, 2026. He’s been given Flat No. 501 in Hooghly. Type VII accommodation. His regular place now.

That flat replaces Bungalow No 20 on Dr Rajendra Prasad Road. That bungalow was where he lived, yeah, but more importantly, it was the TMC’s Delhi office for a while.

The order itself is pretty straightforward, though. The MS Branch of the Lok Sabha Secretariat issued it. It tells him to either accept or refuse this new place within eight days. And sort out all the paperwork according to those parliamentary housing rules.

This move isn't just about where he sleeps. It’s got weight politically. That bungalow, that Rajendra Prasad Road spot? It was effectively the party headquarters in Delhi for years. So when Bhowmick leaves, it means the TMC is losing that operational base right there.

It comes at a peculiar time too. A bunch of those dissident MPs are pushing to get recognized as a separate group in Parliament. All this speculation about where the party’s future direction lies suddenly gets louder because of this change happening now.

Historically, the TMC hasn't really run its Delhi politics from one fixed spot anyway. They usually used residences given to senior leaders instead of some designated headquarters.

Back when things started, they operated out of Mukul Roy’s place on South Avenue. But that changed. After Roy stepped away and those political differences flared up with the leadership, operations moved to Abhishek Banerjee's official residence.

Then, it settled at Partha Bhowmick’s bungalow on Dr. Rajendra Prasad Road. That became the latest hub for their activities in the capital.

So now, him vacating that property, moving into a smaller flat it’s being watched closely by everyone in politics. The timing of this move, and what it means for the party's infrastructure in Delhi, is really interesting.

It ends the arrangement where that bungalow was the TMC’s main operating base . And you have all those internal squabbles brewing among the MPs right now. It just leaves a huge question hanging: where are they going to put the Delhi office next? How will they structure things now that that space is gone?
