Political Tensions and Remarks in Telangana

Wednesday saw the Bharatiya Janata Party really push back. They targeted Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy and the Congress over some remarks he made about their national president, Nitin Nabin. The party called those comments just plain “objectionable.” Said they reflected the whole “culture of the Congress.”

This reaction followed something that happened earlier. Apparently, CM Reddy had joked around. He reportedly junked Nabin’s call to the BJP workers, telling them to aim for a win in the 2028 state assembly elections. He expressed this confidence that the Congress would just crush the BJP in Telangana.

Reddy said something like, “Recently, a guy came here. Nabin or whatever, I don’t really know his name.” He kept going. “But he comes here and says the next government is theirs.” That was according to India Today .

Then the comments got sharper. Reddy brought up West Bengal. He said it took fifteen years just to form a government there. His point was that tricks might have worked in Bengal because Mamata Banerjee was running things. But here? All their guys are ready. They will crush them, he added.

The BJP didn't let that sit. Sambit Patra, the national spokesperson, went straight for it. He basically aimed training guns at Reddy. He told him plainly: “Revanth Reddy ji, let me state this clearly without mincing words. You can try your best to crush the Bharatiya Janata Party . But look, the people of India have a crush on the BJP.” India Today reported that quote.

Patra then shifted focus. He brought up West Bengal again. Referring to how the BJP won there historically, Patra suggested that some kind of “khela” happened in Bengal. And he implied that a similar “khela” would happen in Telangana too.

Then came the personal jab aimed squarely at Reddy. Patra said something about Reddy being a chief minister, a member of Congress. He asked, really, do you know who the president of the BJP is? India’s biggest political party? If you don't know that name, he suggested, then maybe you aren't a competent political worker.

And it wasn’t just about Telangana politics. Patra also dragged in Mamata Banerjee. He recalled how people mocked those who engaged in similar behavior. He mentioned that Mamata Banerjee had made a joke about Amit Shah too.

Meanwhile, Nitin Nabin himself was making noise. The newly-elected national president recently sounded the poll bugle in Telangana. He declared that the party could form a “double-engine government” there by 2028. He also felt optimistic that the BJP would just expand its base under Modi’s leadership. A lot of moving parts happening right now, you know? Just tension everywhere.
