Andhra Pradesh Covid-19 Statistics and Management Report

Andhra Pradesh is seeing some grim numbers lately. They clocked twelve Covid-19 infections between June 26 and July 16. And four people died from it. That’s what State Health Commissioner G Veerapandian told them on Thursday.

Sporadic cases, he said in a release. Twelve people caught the virus in that timeframe, and four of them sadly passed away. The thing is, those four deaths weren't random. They all had serious pre-existing conditions hypertension, diabetes, renal issues, and other health problems. It just hits differently when you see that.

He pointed out where these deaths happened too. Three of the fatalities were reported in Kadapa district. One was from Kakinada.

The state first caught a case back on June 26th, right there in Kadapa. Then between July 1 and July 16, another eleven infections popped up according to the Health Department. Two patients got sick because they came into close contact with someone already infected. That’s how it spreads, isn't it?

Kadapa had the most cases by far, eight infections there. Guntur followed with two. Visakhapatnam and Kakinada each registered one case. Veerapandian stressed that these weren't some weird clusters happening all in one spot. They came from different areas, different mandals. Just scattered reports.

They did some testing too. Sixty-seven Covid tests were run across Andhra Pradesh during those weeks June 26th to July 15th. Eleven samples tested positive. But wait, there was one more case reported somewhere else entirely: Christian Medical College in Vellore, Tamil Nadu. That was the twelfth detection.

As for what’s happening now? Things are being managed. Three of those infected people are currently home isolated. Two others are getting hospital treatment right now. And three have already recovered and been released. It's a mixed bag.

Meanwhile, across all of India, the national picture is different. On July 1st alone, they reported 339 Covid-19 cases nationally. Kerala was up front with 115 infections there. Karnataka followed that with 64. Maharashtra had 43. Tamil Nadu logged 39. And you still have the Andaman and Nicobar Islands and Delhi at 18 each. Rajasthan also brought in twelve. It’s a mess of numbers, really.
