CBSE Verification and Re-evaluation Portal Update

The Central Board of Secondary Education , CBSE , finally flipped the switch on that verification and re-evaluation portal. It’s live now. Students who have those scanned answer sheets? They can actually apply online to check their marks again.
This whole thing has been dragging on, hasn't it? The board just tossed out a deadline. June 6th, 2026 . That’s the final date. If you have any nagging doubts about how you were graded, you have to use this window. Don’t wait.
They put this out on their X account. Just an update. They told everyone to watch the explainer video first. You need to see the whole thing before you click anything. It’s complicated.
And don’t forget the verification part. They finally threw Aadhaar into the mix. That was a big deal. If you don't have an Aadhaar card, no sweat. Parents, relatives, or guardians can use their details. But here’s the kicker: whatever details you use—the name, the date of birth, the gender—they absolutely have to match the person whose Aadhaar number is actually being used for the application. That level of detail, trying to keep things clean.
How to Apply for Verification and Re-evaluation
So, how do you actually get through this mess? It’s a sequence, but it feels more like a trial.
- First off, you need the paper. A scanned copy of your answer sheet. Don’t just grab it. You have to look it over. Check for missing answers. Look for addition errors. Missing pages? Mistakes in how they marked things? If you find something wrong, that’s when you apply for verification.
- If it’s just one question that you think was unfairly marked down, you apply for re-evaluation on that specific question. It’s all about pinpointing the error.
- Then you log in. Roll number. Admit card ID. Simple enough, right?
- From there, you navigate the dashboard. You have to choose between verification of issues or the re-evaluation section. It’s a fork in the road.
- If you go for verification, you select all the subjects where you suspect something is off. Then you pay. That’s one path.
- Then there’s the re-evaluation. You select the subjects again. You pay for that too. You save the application form. Make sure you save everything. Don't lose the application.
- And then the payment part. That’s the final hurdle. You have to make the required payment.
- Review everything. Seriously. Look at all the details one last time. Don't rush this part. Submit the application. Then just wait. Keep track of your status. That’s the last step.
Context and Controversy
This whole process kicked off while the On Screen Marking system was under a massive spotlight. That’s the context you need to understand. It wasn't just some routine check. This was happening because of the OSM controversy .
For the first time, they rolled out this digital checking system. Examiners looked at the scanned sheets. And immediately, the noise started. Students were screaming online. Low marks. Errors. Blurred images. People were alleging that the checking itself was flawed.
That’s why the demand for re-evaluation exploded. It wasn't just about a grade; it was about trust. And the numbers reflect that panic. Over four hundred thousand applications came in. People were desperate to see if the digital evaluation was actually accurate.
Fee Structure Changes
But then came the money side. The fees. That’s where things got really interesting. Amid all the complaints and the drama, the CBSE actually slashed the fees. They gave some real relief.
The old structure was brutal. You paid seven hundred rupees just for the scanned copy. Five hundred for the marks verification. And then per question, another hundred.
Now? It’s drastically different. Ten hundred rupees for the scanned copy, ten hundred for the marks check. And for the re-evaluation itself, they dropped it to just twenty-five rupees per question.
That’s a huge cut. They basically gave students a break if they were right. If the re-evaluation shows your marks actually went up? The fee you paid gets refunded. That decision? That’s what got everyone’s attention. Students and parents seemed to breathe a little easier about that.
It’s a complicated setup, really. A digital system trying to fix a system that caused a lot of chaos. And now, the real test is whether this new process actually delivers what people are asking for. It’s messy. It’s urgent. And it’s happening right now.
