Details of a Tragic Exam Case and Controversy

The immediate context is that this student had just sat for the exam and was reportedly under serious stress after trying to estimate her score using the answer key that came out online.

Family members told the police something heartbreaking. They said she had expected a much higher mark. After seeing the official answer key, she calculated she might land around 600 out of 720. That gap must have been crushing. They spoke about deep disappointment and mental stress building up for some time over that anticipated performance.

The police report suggests a sequence of events. The student reportedly stepped out of her flat near noon. She went to the lift, up to the top floor, and then allegedly jumped.

They had been living in that housing society for a while now. Her father, Kateshwar, who is a senior executive at a private company, informed investigators that the deceased was his elder daughter.

They are investigating everything connected to this case.

That’s a small group. But among them, over 93 per cent were taking NEET UG for the very first time. And almost ninety-nine per cent of those were in the 17 to 19 age bracket.

The whole examination was complicated by something else. The test had been re-conducted on June 21st because there were serious allegations about a paper leak, which brought one of the biggest controversies to this exam's history. It just adds another layer of complexity to everything that happened recently.
