ICAI Changes CA Final Exam Frequency Starting May 2026

The ICAI just made a big move about the CA Final exams . Seriously.
Starting May 2026, they’re cutting the frequency. It won’t be three times a year anymore. That’s the change.
The CA Final exams will now happen twice. May and November.
Before this, it was the usual rhythm: January, May, September. Three cycles.
ICAI put this decision out there after talking to everyone involved. Students, stakeholders, the whole board. They felt the pressure was too much.
They said conducting exams three times a year was just creating too much stress.
Two cycles. That’s supposed to let people actually breathe. To focus. To prepare better. They expect more effective results from that.
It’s a shift. A new beginning for those trying to crack the CA. People who were grinding hard now get a chance to plan things out. More efficiently.
But there’s the flip side, of course. Fewer chances.
Those who maybe needed those extra attempts? They’ll have to wait longer between tries.
The official notice lays it out. They decided this. The CA Final Exams will run in May and November from May 2026 onward.
Now, don’t forget the Intermediate stuff too. They also messed with the schedule for the CA Intermediate exams.
Nothing about the Foundation or the Final exams is changing, though. That part stays the same. Just the Intermediate schedule got a shake-up.
