Messi's Goal and the History of the Nu Stadium

Messi kicked off the action, scoring a goal as the MLS champions wrestled for a draw against Austin FC on Saturday. It was all happening inside the gleaming new Nu Stadium, the brainchild of Inter Miami.
"To see this stadium come to life, after years and years of trying to get this stadium up and running in Miami is something that’s very special."
Then there was the history. Beckham reflected on his own journey. He said he came to America twenty years ago, made promises.
The match started off celebratory, almost too much. Beckham and owner Jorge Mas were doing the ribbon-cutting, but Austin just refused to follow the script.
The Texas side came out swinging. They stunned the home crowd in just six minutes. Guilherme Biro nodded something from Facundo Torres, and it was 1-0 to the visitors.
And then Messi. He didn't wait. He opened his account immediately in the new surroundings. Right-back Ian Fray burst down the flank, crossed it, and Messi got it. A rare headed goal. 1-1.
Inter Miami took over after that. They just dominated possession. Mateo Silvetti was getting close, twice. First a shot in the 34th minute. Then a header that went wide, four minutes later.
Austin kept pushing. Their defending was tough. They found the lead back after 53 minutes.
Messi got done. He was dispossessed deep in the Austin half by Joseph Rosales. Uzuni released, and Jayden Nelson sent him clean through on goal.
Miami was getting desperate.
Suarez got it then. Eight minutes later. He was close range, prodding home after a flick from Messi off the woodwork. He thought he had scored the winner, a dramatic moment. But the call came back. Offside. It was ruled out.
The game just kept moving. It was all chaos.
