TCS Nashik Sexual Harassment and Religious Conversion Allegations

A 23-year-old woman brought forward these claims, and it’s central to the whole TCS Nashik sexual harassment and religious conversion mess. She told investigators she was allegedly pressured to watch videos of Pakistani preachers and other religious speakers.
She said the accused introduced her to Islamic teachings through these videos and sermons. Think Tariq Jamil , a Pakistani cleric. And speeches by Zakir Naik , a controversial preacher.
She further claimed she was gradually exposed to these teachings. Repeatedly pushed away from Hindu practices. Visiting temples. Listening to devotional songs.
These claims are part of a chargesheet filed by the Special Investigation Team, the SIT . The SIT was set up by the Maharashtra government. They’re looking into allegations made by several women working at the Tata Consultancy Services unit in Nashik.
The women accused certain colleagues. Sexual exploitation . Molestation . Religious pressure . Sustained mental harassment .
The victim told the police this was all a calculated campaign. Psychological and religious manipulation, orchestrated by the accused. They exploited her vulnerability. All under the guise of reducing her “mental stress.”
She was manipulated to this extent. Convinced that accepting Islam would lower her stress.
“I was convinced that if I accepted the Islamic religion, my mental stress would decrease,” the complainant stated in her statement. “I slowly started believing in those things.”
The chargesheet also lists things she was introduced to. Islamic theology. Jannah, Jahannum, Qurbani, Bakri Eid, Zamzam water.
The case file points to Danish Shaikh , Tausif Attar , and Nida Khan as the accused. That’s where the charges were filed at the Deolali Camp police station.
But the story gets darker when you look at the specific interactions. The complainant alleged Danish Shaikh, despite being married, sexually exploited her, using marriage as an excuse.
When she expressed fear about her future and family acceptance, Shaikh pushed back. He said, “Don’t be afraid. Trust me. Allah is with us. Stop listening to Bhagwan songs and going to the temple; your stress will decrease.”
He also pushed for her to recite Tasbeeh. Said it would ease her anxiety.
She countered that Shaikh told her, “The more you take Allah’s name, your sins will be forgiven, and your good deeds will increase. Read Astaghfar, ask for forgiveness from Allah, and your mental stress will decrease.”
Then there’s the pressure regarding the videos. Danish allegedly pushed her to watch sermons and videos from Pakistani Islamic cleric Tariq Jamil .
Tausif Attar and Nida Khan were involved too. They allegedly encouraged her to learn about the religion. Tausif told her to search for videos of Zakir Naik and Dr. Israr Ahmed , a Pakistani Islamic scholar, on YouTube. She watched them, following his instructions.
And there was more. The victim alleged Danish had access to detailed information about her bank accounts. Her UPI PIN. He knew exactly what funds were available.
“Danish told Tausif and Nida to give me information about the Islamic religion,” the victim said. “So, Tausif and Nida used to tell me about the religion from time to time.”
Tausif then directed her to search for those specific videos on YouTube.
The SIT has been digging deeper. They’ve widened the probe beyond the initial three names.
AIMIM corporator Mateen Patel from Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar is now named. He’s accused of allegedly providing shelter to Nida Khan while she was on the run. This happened even though her anticipatory bail application had been rejected.
The first chargesheet, submitted back in May, came from 106 witnesses. That includes the complainant, her mother, TCS employees, members of the Internal Complaints Committee under POSH rules, and the officers themselves.
As the investigation moved along, the SIT filed more charge sheets. Linked to eight FIRs registered at the Mumbai Naka police station.
The accused list is long. Danish Shaikh , Tausif Attar , Nida Khan , Raza Memon , Shahrukh Qureshi , Shafi Sheikh , Asif Aftab Ansari , and Ashwini Ashok Chainani . All of them are currently in custody.
Nine employees have come forward with separate complaints. This pushed the investigation to look much broader. Allegations of harassment, coercion, workplace misconduct.
Nida Khan is also accused of using a WhatsApp group. To influence employees. Pressure them about religion and lifestyle stuff.
She allegedly urged staff to offer prayers. To eat non-vegetarian food. To dress and act according to Islamic customs and traditions.
TCS has suspended employees named in the case while things are being investigated. The CEO, K Krithivasan, said the company stands by employee welfare. Safety. Ethical conduct.
He said TCS has a zero-tolerance policy. Towards any form of coercion or misconduct.
“We are focused on supporting our employees,” he added. “Ensuring a safe, respectful workplace. We cooperate fully with law enforcement so this matter gets investigated thoroughly, transparently, and comes to a rightful conclusion.”
