Murder Investigation and Confession in Kalyan

A woman allegedly killed her live-in partner. Thirty-seven years old. He was chopped up and stuffed into a sack before being dumped in the bathroom of their rented flat in Thane’s Kalyan. Then she just fled, heading to Kolkata. Days later, she sent a voice note to the landlord confessing everything.

That voice note is what finally got things moving. The landlord heard it, panicked, called the police. Manpada police acted fast. They broke into the door at Neelkanth Society on Malang Road in Kalyan East on Sunday. What they found was Hamidulla Islam’s body. Decomposed. Chopped into pieces. Hidden inside a gunny bag in the bathroom.

The cops are guessing the murder happened five or six days prior to the discovery. That kind of timing… it just feels wrong.

People living in that society had been complaining about a smell for days. A really foul smell coming from the locked apartment. At first, everyone figured garbage. Drainage problems maybe. But then they realized. Some kind of body was rotting inside. It was horrifying.

The police say the accused, Hasiba , had been living there with Hamidulla for maybe a month and a half or two. That’s how long she had to plan this.

One worker at the society told the Times of India something that stuck with everyone. They were talking about the smell. “We thought it was garbage or some drainage issue,” he said. “None of us imagined a body was lying inside.” Just like that, the reality hit them.

Investigators are looking into how this happened. Apparently, Hamidulla was attacked first. With something sharp. Then his body got dismembered and hidden away in the bathroom. And there’s another suspicion floating around. They think the accused left the water running non-stop. Trying to speed up the decay. Erasing any trace of what happened.

Then there's the voice note itself. What she claimed was chilling. She told the landlord, Ajay Patil, that Hamidulla had brought her from Pune to Kalyan. The whole setup, she said, was about selling her into some prostitution racket. And then she planned to kill him herself. Self-defense? That’s what she claimed. She asked the landlord to handle the final rites.

The police are now checking those claims in the voice message. Trying to figure out if there’s any truth there at all. A murder case is officially registered, obviously. They sent teams off to Kolkata. To trace Hasiba and get her arrested. The body itself went for a post-mortem examination. Forensic experts are sifting through the flat for anything else they can find. It's just starting. Really messy.
