Union Health Minister's Response to NEET Paper Leak Protests

A day after that meeting with the Cockroach Janta Party delegation about the fallout from those NEET paper leaks , Union Health Minister JP Nadda just said it was “good as usual.”

“Thik rahi. Hamesha thik rehti hai,” he commented, according to ANI. It’s a very casual take for something that sounds so heavy.

This discussion wasn't isolated. Nadda had held those two rounds of talks with Saurav Das and Ashutosh Ranka the CJP representatives leading the student protests over all the widespread irregularities and leaks in the NEET-UG exams . Real pressure was building, you could feel it everywhere.

The whole thing happened right on top of a massive protest at Jantar Mantar in Delhi that same day. People were out there making noise.

Sources tell you the first meeting kicked off around 11:50 AM. That’s when the CJP folks laid out what they wanted, their demands. They came with specifics.

Nadda asked them to write things down. Demands in writing. It felt like a formality at first.

Then, later that afternoon, around four o'clock, the representatives showed up again. Not just talking this time. They brought a written memorandum to the minister’s residence. A formal statement of grievances.

What was on that memo? Three big things they pushed forward. First, compensation for the families. For those students who allegedly died by suicide after those paper leaks happened. That hits hard.

Second, they wanted the resignation of the Union Education Minister himself. Big move there. And third, they brought up Sonam Wangchuk. He was demanding his release.

Wangchuk had been involved in this for a while. Joined the protests back in late June. Started an indefinite hunger strike at Jantar Mantar trying to force some kind of accountability over all those exam irregularities.

But here’s where things got messy. Sources say no commitment followed from Nadda or the administration on any of those points. Nothing concrete was aGreed.

Instead, what happened was a pivot. Nadda essentially told them to stop protesting. To cool down. To cooperate with the administration and just restore some semblance of normalcy in the areas that were affected by all this chaos. The pressure remained high though.
