Team Strategy and Pressure in the Match

Early pressure hit them hard. They got dragged into a really nervy finish.

Reflecting on that narrow escape, Patidar was pretty open about it. He conceded that his side made the chase way more complicated than it should have.

“I don’t think we deserved to win the match,” he said after the game.

Krunal built some crucial partnerships, especially with Jacob Bethell. That was what revived RCB’s hopes after that early disaster.

“I think it’s normal now,” Patidar continued. “But it was a very tight match overall. ”

Patidar also spilled some details about the team strategy. He mentioned that Krunal’s promotion to number five wasn't random.

“We talked about it in the meetings. We know how he plays. He’s played at number five before too. But yeah, we wanted to give him that chance to go up there, and he did pretty well. There’s just so much experience, you know? That’s why I think those players step up on the big stage when the team is under pressure.”
“Our mantra is to play to our strengths. Play good cricket instead of just looking at the numbers. The bowlers did a tremendous job there, keeping them restricted to 166. That was chaseable, I would say, easily.”

But then he swung back. No matter how the situation was or what the pitch was doing, we are capable enough to chase those targets easily.
