Uttar Pradesh Development, Identity, and the Future of Bundelkhand

Yogi Adityanath laid foundation stones today. Seventy-five development projects. Over six hundred thirty-six crore rupees worth. All done at Swami Brahmanand Mahavidyalaya in Rath. And a short film about Hamirpur’s development was shown too.
The Chief Minister spoke about things. About how it isn't Uttar Pradesh anymore. It’s different now. Those who pushed the state into BIMARU back then? They are struggling for recognition today. An identity crisis, people reject them.
It all came after the votes. People voted BJP and that lotus symbol in Hamirpur and Rath. That led to things happening. Security got better. Tap water reached every house. Expressways built. All that stuff became possible.
He appealed hard to Bundelkhand folks. Don't let the mafia come back to power. Stop dividing people by caste or language. They need healthy competition for growth, for heritage, faith, everything.
Nine years ago felt like a lifetime ago. Bundelkhand was just lacking connectivity. Roads were terrible. Potholes everywhere. Women spent their lives carrying pots on their heads just for water. Hamirpur? It struggled by the Yamuna and Betwa rivers. And the youth? They lacked recognition too. Sand, mining, land mafias took everything from the poor. People across the country looked at UP with suspicion back then.
Then you have Modi’s time. Twelve years of change. Millions participated in Yoga Day earlier. It filled up the past and present with pride. Gave confidence for the future. Modi brought India’s identity to the world again with that Yoga day thing. And global recognition for the Kumbh as some kind of heritage.
The CM said something sharp. Those who played caste politics just used power for their families. But for PM Modi? the whole 1.4 billion Indians are family. For Uttar Pradesh, the 250 million people? Family. When the government works right, makes good policies, and follows through results follow fast.
Remembering when he came back as CM in 2017 to Bundelkhand. People had talked about how disconnected they were. I spoke about the Bundelkhand Expressway then. It’s finished now. And look at this: ammunition, artillery, missiles are being made right here in Uttar Pradesh itself.
There was talk of Operation Sindoor too. When that BrahMos missile, made in Lucknow, went against Pakistan, it had to beg for mercy. A real moment.
The Har Ghar Jal scheme is helping women and girls now. Self-help groups are building things Balini Milk Producer Company, Drone Didi, Lakhpati Didi, BC Sakhi. Youth from Bundelkhand Mahoba, Hamirpur, Lalitpur, Jalaun, Jhansi they are being put into the police force now. That wasn't happening before. Only Saifai was considered back then. Now? Irrigation, drinking water, all those projects for the whole state are planned. New planes coming in soon. Air services starting from Chitrakoot. Bundelkhand will have great air links. New railways too.
He pushed for a bus stand for Rath. The Transport Department needed to hurry up that work. A proposal from Shahjahanpur led to Swami Shukdevanand State University. Another one, property and infrastructure in Bhadohi brought Kashi Naresh University starting this session.
But there’s still stuff left. He mentioned the Swami Brahmanand College management committee proposal hadn't arrived yet. Submit it. We will build a university. It takes time for laws and procedures to move, but action needs to be quick.
The university has to have a big vision. Let colleges from other districts join in. Give modern education. Support skill development for the Defence Manufacturing Corridor through future tech. He also insisted on a medical college in Hamirpur.
He spoke about the past again. During the SP government, mafias were everywhere across Bundelkhand. They grabbed land. Illegal mining. Threatening traders and women. Attacking the police. It ruined the image of Bundelkhand, Hamirpur, Uttar Pradesh. There’s no room for those thugs under this government anymore. They are either locked up or gone. Anyone threatening women faces the harshest punishment now.
Major water conservation work is happening too. Pond excavation and restoration. He pushed for Har Ghar Jal . It's a change agent. Projects like Kabrai Dam, Ratauli Dam, Bhavani Dam, Kachnoda Dam, that sprinkler project in Chilli-Majhgawan, Ken-Betwa Link Project they are finishing up. No water shortage for drinking or farming coming soon.
He stressed conservation. Cleanliness. Planting trees. The monsoon was late. El Niño warnings meant there could be less rain over the next three years. Everyone needs to save every drop. Har Ghar Jal doesn't mean leaving taps running all day. Use only what you need. Adopt modern irrigation methods in farming. Encourage farmers to use science to get better yields with less water.
And finally, credit where it’s due. Previous governments just created exploitation and an identity mess. But Bundelkhand is making real contributions now. India's biggest industrial city is developing near Jhansi. Investment proposals are already coming in. Local youth won't have to leave for jobs anymore. Hindustan Unilever, JK Cement, Rimjhim Ispat, NTPC Solar Plant, GAIL India projects approved for the region over these nine years.
People elected leaders who could deliver. One vote changed everything about Uttar Pradesh. Ram Temple in Ayodhya. Kashi Vishwanath Dham Corridor. Vindhyavasini Corridor. The Mahakumbh success. Congress questioned history; SP government used force against those chanting ‘Jai Shri Ram.’ Allegations there too. They restricted Krishna Janmotsav and the Kanwar Yatra, while roads got chaotic during Muharram and Eid.
The government is moving forward now. New things in education, health, water, jobs. That’s what matters.
