Welcome To The Jungle Editing and Censorship Process

So, Welcome To The Jungle got its U/A 16+ certificate from the CBFC. But that wasn't smooth sailing at all. They forced so many changes dialogue, visuals before it was even allowed to hit the theaters. We’re talking eighteen cuts total just to get the Green light, which meant messing with things in a bunch of scenes.

A lot of that was about sensitivity. People flagged some lines and language. For instance, they completely wiped out dialogue mentioning "Paani of Kashmir." And yeah, some really crude stuff got removed too; phrases like "desh ki tatti" disappeared entirely. It had to be cleaned up.

The military talk got tweaked a bit too. Things were altered around the "Gorkha Regiment," changing it into something more… casual, like asking if someone was in the army instead of using that specific term. And word choice changed everywhere "General" became "Officer" or just "Sir." It’s a whole vibe shift.

Then there were the jokes. They had to rewrite some comedic bits to tone them down. Remember that line about "Kaala paida hua hai, koyla hai"? That got softened into something less harsh. And another one, that bit about water it was tweaked. Something like, "Jo shaheed hone ja raha tha, uske munh mein bhar lo paani." A little gentler, somehow.

Visuals were the next big headache. The visual team faced massive cuts too. All those sensual bikini shots? Gone. Close-ups of women’s hips? Out. Lots of that repeated hip movement choreography got scrapped or replaced entirely. And several bits featuring Disha Patani and Jacqueline Fernandez just got pulled from the final cut. There was even a scene with some awkward hand gestures that needed to go, so they deleted it.

Still, it made it through. The final certified runtime is 164.50 minutes. Two hours, forty-four minutes, and fifty seconds. It’s a lot of editing for what ended up being the final product.

Anyway, about the movie itself. Welcome To The Jungle is slated to hit cinemas on June 26th, 2026. Directed by Ahmad Khan. It still promises that trademark chaos you expect from the Welcome franchise all the confusion and mayhem but apparently on a much bigger scale this time around.

It’s all about pushing that earlier madness forward, introducing fresh characters and new situations into the mix. The cast is huge, too. Akshay Kumar is front and center, alongside Suniel Shetty, Arshad Warsi, Disha Patani, Jacqueline Fernandez, Raveena Tandon, Lara Dutta, Jackie Shroff, Urvashi Rautela, Paresh Rawal, Johny Lever, Rajpal Yadav, Shreyas Talpade, Tusshar Kapoor, Krushna Abhishek, Kiku Sharda and Daler Mehendi. Just a massive group all involved in this process.
